"Any meal out is judged by a combination of food and ambiance. Where one is lacking, the other never compensates, We stayed at the Corbeau overnight (the rooms are a comfortable but a little shabby)and invited friends for dinner. We had not seen them for...a while and were looking forward to catching up. The food was fine (nice starters and a good faux filet) The wine list was very expensive with little choice under €30; too much for a restaurant of this standard. It was after dinner that things went wrong. We were sitting over coffee and both the waiting staff stood close to our table glaring at us. The unspoken message was “go away because we want to go home” True we were the only table but it was only 8.30 for goodness sake! This should not happen in a restaurant where the bill was nearly €50 per head."

I was traveling through on a business trip and was in the area for 2 days. Slept in the hotel and eat of this restaurant. The staff are very friendly, do not speak English, but was able to communicate. The restaurant is in a very...small town, but the staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would stay again for sure.

nice eating, but mixed device that overshadowed the meal. short hairy waitress was excellent, but the other blonde hairy waitress was appalling-complete absentness of customer support skills, in which did to the point of rest. also, cover chairs with a plastic cover for children. rather strange and rude, my 11-year-old son has better table manating than some adult. we will not return.

Our stop in Auxonne was well into our French odyssey. The restaurant atmosphere tells you it is a cut above many. The Manager, Laurant, was attentive and helpful. Two people ordered burgers ! but don't don't get the idea these were what you'd get at...a fast food joint. Salads were well dressed and the salmon ordered was excellent. I must mention the duck, well cooked and dressed with the most wonderful jus Laurant told me was based on an Asian berry kalamansi, something i had never heard of but a wonderful accompanyment.

very grateful for the host who offered the hotel guests a limited selection menu to realize that only a few alternatives are available for dinner in front of location. our group included 2 very tired children's chef and waitress took considerable time effort to give them shared fabulous tender steak who loved them and many of their favorite bread. many alternatives offered. adult loved their large mixed salate, steak and sweet, incredible baked alaska. only the point was that 2 steaks were a bit hard (seldom searches what did not help).

We chose this restaurant mostly because of its #1 rating on trip advisor. It lived up to our expectations. The welcome from Laurent , the head waiter , was warm and friendly and we were seated immediately. The service was swift and equally friendly from...the young waitress who worked hard all the time we were there . We took the set meal which at €25 was fantastic value for money and contained some of the best food we have eaten in a while. The wine to be fair was not cheap but was very good , as was the local artisan beer. The chef is the owner and a very good chef he is. Auxonne is a very pretty town and this restaurant next to the main church in its centre is worth a visit.

I was strolling through Auxonne with my elderly father. We were looking for a place to drink a coffee and passed by this restaurant. It was completely empty, with two waitresses standing idle in front of a coffee machine. They refused to serve coffee, claiming...that this was a proper restaurant that only served food. Of course, if we had gotten the coffee and a friendly attitude, we might have returned in the evening for dinner. We did not. This is a great example of waiters' arrogance that prevailed all over France until 5-10 years ago. It is only in a few countryside places that you can still experience it. So, I recommend that you go to this restaurant and ask for a coffee! Consider the...
