"Overpriced, under spiced, overcooked food in a badly furnished, pretentious environment. It's not all that bad. The building itself (from the outside at least) is beautiful and the staff is friendly. But that's really it for the positives. The interior is bad, the toilets (only accessible by lift - no stairs?!) are a disaster unless you like very bright lights, plastic plants, artificially aged mirrors and red doors. We had the lamb shank cooked in a ginger broth (could not taste the ginger nor the lamb and it was overcooked). No starters , dessert or coffee but one kir (not royal) and one glass of rosè and the bill came to euro 71. How did they get 4 stars?!Having said that, try to find a restaurant that is open in the Avignon area."

The best meal I have had in a long long time! The service and food here are both top-notch.

My husband and I went on a 2-week trip to Amsterdam, Paris and London, and our adult daughter (who speaks a little French and knows a lot about food)

Our first night, we had a delightful dinner in the garden. By day 2, the Mistral had arrived, forcing us to dine indoors. The dining room feels tired and needs -- like most of this property -- a major facelift. View menu

stay including lunch with the menu 'the ash' at 44 € p/person. excessively expensive for a potimarron soup, beef daube ravioli (very dry) and a dessert that dating (the paste of the chocolate pie was very soft) idem for the beef cheek served without accompaniment. In short, we expected a more elaborate and tasteful meal.

Resuming the ash restaurant, the splendid setting has not changed but the kitchen has! the staff is kind but lacks a bit of professionalism by allowing to unilaterally replace a missing dessert by another without informing you. the meal was correct but without great inventivity, nor flavor and therefore does not leave an imperishable memory. in summary, progress to be made to distinguish themselves because the value ratio is not at the rendezvous. We stayed in the hotel for a week and loved the food and atmosphere of the restaurant so much, that we ate here every evening. The chef is very creative and everything is not just delicious, but lovely to look at. Fresh seasonal food with lots of herbs and spices...a perfect example and tribute to provincial cooking. The prix-fix menus were a very good value for the price. The wine list was not overly extensive but offered a good selection of carefully chosen wines at various price points. All in all, an excellent dining experience.

menu à 44€ : entries offered - soup of potimarron, banal and in reduced quantity, the second entry proposed, a fennel and salmon flash, original and very tasteful. the main dish, a staple of stone crushed with potato and truffle sauce, excellent. dessert, good but banal .in summary, the quality is but too little copyy and the price too high for the dishes offered. The service: overplayed, to justify the price . lapses , the service is not at the height of a gourmet restaurant: a requested water carafe, expected 15 minutes and dessert finished more staff to have a coffee or a digestive.

"I'm a regular here, and I'm not the only one lol! This place is always packed, it's both a locals haunt and a place where well-advised tourists end up. I meet my friends here, I meet my colleagues here, I meet half the town here...And it draws out the locals every evening with good reasons! So, first off: Convenience. Just on the bank of the river, this place has it's own parking.Next, atmosphere: Clean shabby chic orientated decor, open central kitchen, usually pretty crowded, Italian chef.... This place has got the atmosphere where it should be for modern tasty Italian cuisine.Service: populated by hipster and punkette style waiters and waitresses, they might not be warm nor welcoming, but they polite and competent. The service is prompt and the wine suggestions correct.Food: my FAVOURITE part! I love Italian, and I just appreciate a place that does it right so much! Simple, clean, modern and tasty!Their pizzas are beyond a doubt the best in the region, special mention for the Bianca and the Cosi. Their pasta is mouth watering. But I always find the best on their menu to be their dish of the day (for example duck filet with apricots, tuna steak with Italian sauce, roast filet mignon...) and their veal schnitzel. In fact I am a regular to this place almost solely because of their veal schnitzel. Just gorgeous!Oh and their desserts.... Are just delicious, special mention for the raspberry-lemon-white chocolate parfait!Once again, this is not a budget eat-all-you-can low end pizzeria. The prices are midrange. But the cuisine is authentic and impeccable, the setting very pleasant, and it is definitely a place you will come back to after trying it once."
