"It was a very quiet Tuesday evening in Montauban, which was doing a good impression of a ghost town.Lupulus looks pretty funky, has a huge selection of Belgian beers and had a passable if not extensive sounding menu.My comments would be that the tapas are poor. A bit of (tasty mind you) cheese, a bit of ham, a pile of cheap tasteless tortilla chips two small skewers of some kind of meat in a BBQ sauce and some deep fried potato product that looked like one of those churro things. Not my idea of tapas even for 6.50 euros. The house local wine was passable - not good but drinkable and at 5euros for 50cl it would be churlish to grumble much. The pizza (tartiflette) had mixed reviews from each of us. I quite liked it though the bacon lardons were barely cooked and it was certainly tasty enough and filling. At 12 euros for the pizza we weren't exactly being robbed. As there was nobody in any restaurants, it would be harsh to judge it's ambience. All in all, very average but it won't hurt your wallet."

A warm and friendly atmosphere, good dishes all over and a very good advice on beers. A little more for the server that's awesome!

My wife and I stopped off in Montauban for 1 night on our way to Toulouse, we wandered around and eventually decided that we would eat at the Lupulus. I decided on the Toulouse sausage and my wife had the Duck, we were not disappointed both dishes were delicious.

Well, but we didn't offer an aero. Just our children had the right there because it's in the child menu. The dish of the day was very good and with fresh products (arrow and dorade) but the dessert of the day was not worthy of a dinner (Pâtisserie à Nutella but it looked like a pancake in Nutella). Very good price 8€ the child menu and 12,5€ the dessert day menu.

We cycled from Montech to Montauban for the day while on a canal trip. After exploring the town for a few hours, we decided to stop in the main square for lunch. This restaurant had a nice selection of beers and pizzas, which we had already planned on for lunch. The pizzas were quite good and a nice size. As an added benefit, they had a nice Belgian brown beer available which went quite well with the pizza. The service was prompt and they had wifi we used while we there.

this was a sunny Sunday, directly on the place national. we were 9 of us, from 4 to 46. here are some observations: the burger was brought to the table without the meat inside, for the first time I have seen this (healthy excuses, but...no rabatt or little free gesture) the youngest children's menu was not first the beer was terrible warm: we had to ask for ice cubes (no reaction from the owner) no intention of my side to shame their call. I just hope this will help the lupulus to maintain and deliver great experiences to its customers.

I simply hope this will help the Lupulus to keep up and deliver great experiences to its customers.

The restaurant is located in the main square, Place Nationale, that is very pleasant and where there are many others and all with tables set outside.Time was pushing on when we arrived, it was getting on for 9.00pm, so we didn't study all the restaurants as we would usually do.The lack of table cloths might have been a clue that this wasn't top end. We waited the best part of ten minutes before received a menu and asked if we wanted drinks. It was over ten minutes more before we received them. The menu wasn't extensive, basic fayre, nothing exciting. It was OK but should we visit Montauban again we'll eat somewhere else in the square.

I couldn't decide whether to give these 3 or 4 stars, but the nice staff swore it! We had an hour to kill before a concert at the Jardin des Plantes, so we marveled in the old town like the France/Argentina World Cup game. Luckily France won! Le Lupulus began to serve food from 6.30 p.m. and the ladies who serve us let us order early. They could not have been more helpful and the service was really excellent. My food (the classic burger) was good, but a few of our parties were underwhelmed. The pizza was not very well cooked so that the point was pulled off. However, the service was excellent, the price was reasonable and the location in Place Nationale was absolutely beautiful on a very war...
