"Best dining experience of our recent trip (and there were some good contenders)! My husband is a professional chef- so we are picky and we were not disappointed at all. To complicate matters, I can't eat dairy due to a severe intolerance - they went out of their way to accommodate and still ensure that my experience was just as special as my husband's -he could eat everything they served with no problems! We found the service to be attentive but not overbearing, and the pace relaxed but also not overly slow- it was really just right. Looking at the pictures from other reviews, I was a little worried that my husband would still be hungry at the end of the meal (he has a very hearty appetite)- but that was not the case at all. Between all the courses including the amuse bouche- we both felt very satisfied at the end of the meal without feeling so stuffed that you want to roll home (so instead we had a nice stroll back to our car for the drive to our B&B). Another note of appreciation- the staff went out of their way to explain the menu in English- something we never expect but it was much appreciated (I actually speak some French and can translate for my husband, but to be honest I was quite jet lagged as we had arrived that day after a 10 hour flight. It was nice for me that I didn't have to translate every bit, but could jump in to help with words, and my husband just loved the interaction since restaurants and cooking is his world back home- it was a very engaging, welcoming and thoughtful experience).Though the cost is a bit on the higher end- if you are looking for a special night out- the value of the money spent was absolutely worth it in our opinion. Our experience is that restaurants this nice are usually a little snooty, but not here- they were very welcoming and considering it was the first dinner of our trip, it just made for the perfect start for our vacation. We would not hesitate to recommend Le Petit Bateau and hope to return the next time we visit the area."

We read about this restaurant before visiting Beaugency and it certainly lived up to its reputation. Excellent service, reasonable prices and good wine selection.

Really enjoyed this restaurant. Chef/owner was helpful as well as creative with the cuisine. To bad weather wasn't better since it would have been nice to sit outside.

We chose this restaurant to celebrate my birthday and were very satisfied. The interior is pleasing, the staff efficient, and the food delicious and beautifully presented. I would return. View menu

Had dinner with my wife, for the first time in this restaurant. Very nice setting, service & welcome. Very good dishes, but not enough atmosphere in this winter season. A plus for the cheese plate, favoring local cheeses. A must!

Hidden away in a quiet street in the centre of Beaugency, it's easy to miss this excellent restaurant, which was recommended to us. Our authentic French evening meal was outstanding, with friendly service and good wine. Very good value overall.

The restaurant is kind of dark in the interior and very classical. The tables are far from each other. The service is OK but not great. The menu is really limited and has the classical French dinners. The food is OK but not great. The wine list is good and contains mostly wine from the region. View menu

The restaurant is situated a couple of blocks from the river and is run by a husband and wife team that are both charming and welcoming. The ambience is basic but inviting, comfortable and conducive to a relaxing meal. The menu covers all the food groups and we all were very satisfied with our dishes, both appetizers and main courses and the wine list is wonderfully matched to the cuisine and very reasonably priced. A delightful evening at a very reasonable price. I don't believe you can do better for this area.

Booking is essential, but very easy. Simple range of menus at a very fair price given the standard of cooking, they had a lower priced option that was not on the website for 2 courses, friendly and very helpful staff, see the website for details. You can eat inside or outside in a quiet road in the middle of this charming town. Service excellent without the undue attention you sometimes get. Courses were flavoursome, well cooked, well presented and tasted delicious. Although the number of options was limited, there was a good range and as often the case the shorter the range the fresher and better cooked the result, no sign of the dreaded microwave. Highly recommended
