"Small, high end, restaurant of Chalet Mounier P'tit Polyte has just 6 or 7 tables and serves delicious and imaginative cuisine one would expect in downtown London or Paris, not in a remote ski location. Two totally different menus, one focused on regional products, second with more remote roots, undoubtedly related to australian origins of chef. All is perfect but few dishes are well above others: poached lobster served in a roll with mango, seared foie gras with smoked duck breast and delicious bouillon, very original smoked trout with pickled lemon and capers and two desserts: pineapple and mango. Only drawback -if really you are looking for one- is over-abundance of various amuse-bouche, pre-desserts and other migniardises: too much food on the one hand and, specifically regarding amuse-bouche, surprisingly not aligned with the rest of the menu, as if prepared by another chef.Outstanding wine list, clearly built by somebody who both knows and loves wine served by amazing sommeliere - I will be back just for that !Great discovery."

We had an amazing meal. It was a ten course meal which took almost 3 hours! I wish it didn't take so long ( I had some where to be after two hours) but it was one of the best meals I have ever had. The food was regional and prepared with great attention. The staff was very attentive and the sommelier was very helpful. I would go here again however next time I would make sure I block off an entire evening to enjoy the culinary delights. View menu

We went as a group of 8 and all had the 7 course tasting menu. The female sommelier was helpful with our wine selections. The waiting staff were lovely although a little surprised that they didn't pour the water or the wine nor were our drinks taken from the bar to the table. However, this is nit picking! The food was beautifully presented and an absolute delight. Allow a good 3 to 4 hours to fully enjoy. Fabulous alpine decor - all in all a very enjoyable experience.

The Le P'Tit Polyte is situated in a small back room (about 6-7 tables) beyond the main dining room of the Chalet Mounier hotel. A few from our Trek Travel group opted to experience this fine restaurant and glad we did, two of us selecting the more expensive fish-oriented menu and a third the meat menu. All 8 or 9 courses were excellent with the server explaining each dish to us as it was delivered. We skipped the wine package and instead just had a single glass of wine with the meal. We sat down at just past 7:30pm and our meal was finished just past 10:30pm so it does take awhile for all courses to be delivered.

A second Michelin star must be coming soon. This was a pleasure from start to finish. We have been coming to Chalet Mounier for 27 years and it is such a delight to see that it goes from strength to strength under Alban’s leadership. Every last member of staff brought flair and interest to their service. Cristalle knew we had a lift to catch and was on it from the beginning. Franck in the bar was knowledgeable, chatty and engaged. The sommelier gave excellent direction on wine and cheese. There is no greater test for a kitchen than to order the vegetarian tasting menu: every last dish was fresh and intense. There were no wasted courses. Bravo! View menu

We visit L2A every year and I have long hankered after a visit to this restaurant, but for one reason or another, never made it. This year we finally did and my goodness it was worth the wait. We had the 8 course tasting menu along with the 4 recommended wine samples and it was all absolutely perfect. The service was quite exceptional without being overbearing or pretentious and for such an amazing fine dining experience it was very relaxed and enjoyable. The presentation of the food is outstanding and the flavours were sublime. I even tried truffled veal sweetbreads which were nothing like I imagined they would be, but utterly delicious. Deserts were all heavenly and I can only say that Yes...

We have been to Les Deux Alpes and stayed at the Hotel Chalet Mounier many times, but never got round to trying the Ptit Polyte. Well what an amazing treat ! The service was superb and understated in the way you would expect from a Michelin starred restaurant. Then the food ..... we went for the al a carte ,as we did not feel hungry enough for the 8 course taster menu. It was amazing as well as being pure art. Between the courses there were extra courses so 3 course still managed to become 5 . Oh and that was after the delicious amuse bouche we had with drinks . We were full and loved it. The wagu beef was so tender and nicely accompanied with a fabulous sauce and truffle flakes . My descrip...

"this restaurant offers very good quality cuisine at reasonably priced prices. I chose the fixed menu at 39 € and found it to be a good value for money. I had scallops and shrimp to start, then duck for a main dish. the entrance was accompanied by a nice sauce that complimented it perfectly and all the elements were well cooked, as was the main dish. We were in a big party and food came, which is good and everyone enjoyed his meals. The fondue went very well!! my only disappointment was that I ordered them to enjoy them for dessert because I thought "where else could you get an incredible cabbage paste if it's not in france"?! Unfortunately, it was disappointing because the dough was clearly burned, three others at our table ordered this dessert and all commented on the burnt cabbage dough. It was already bad enough that he was bitter to taste and black - I couldn't finish mine for that reason. The restaurant is also a bit victim to its success and we ended up being a little bit in a hurry from our table so that more guests can sit. We were given free blows for our mind problems. Overall, it is a good restaurant with good food. I was just a little surprised by the dessert served as it was while it would have been quite clear to the chef that he was not edible in this state. However, I would come back on the basis of the rest of the meal and recommend this restaurant. the staff was also extremely helpful and very good in his work!"
