Absolutely delicious! One of the best restaurants in Edinburgh by far. All of the team are so attentive and knowledgeable. The passion for the food and wine they serve is exemplary something you don't often see to this degree. Highly recommend this restaurant. We were a party of 10, who were given the private dining room (probably just as well as we were rather boisterous). This is a lovely bright space, tastefully decorated. We had our own waitress, Francesca. She was very attentive, good fun, knowledgeable and very able to advise on menu selection. The food and wine were both fantastic and we all had a very enjoyable, memorable, evening.

very good quality eating. had the pre-theater course meal, which really showed the skills of the cook. the salmon star starter was fresh and light. the deer was roasted tods was boiled to perfection and the smoked squid velouté who accompanied him was just the sky! it is rich in taste, so good that I had to ask for a suppen spoon to enjoy the velouté on itself. a bit on the pricy side, but you get what you recommend for. I had the chance to eat here a few times, and so far I had the scallops, the oktopus, the steactare, the cadry, the makrele, the ozean trout, the calf liver, the guainea fowl, the lamb stew and the bark fillet and had every time a fantastic experience. mr. henry knows how he is in the kitchen. to eat, the beautiful atmosphere, the pleasant staff and the well curated wine selection and it is difficult to go wrong at this place. we will definitely come back!

eating at le roi fou is a “round experience”, as we say in spanish, it includes a circle of excellence. when we entered, we were embraced with glowing jazz music and welcomed by the waiters, smart looking, casual and well maintained. the menu was balanced, classic and elegant and made it difficult to decide. the scallops were perfect, the guinea fowl raised, and the weeps that enjoyed eating were a joy. Hello Locals...We have not longed lived here since moving from Charleston SC . I was looking on google for a restaurant near by to where we live and found this place , it looked interesting for our taste as I only eat Veg and Fish and my husband basically eats Meat . This often makes it difficult to find a good restaurant that suits both our taste. From the moment I walked in and hearing the music I loved the ambiance and for the time we spent there the genres spread at least 4/5 decades. Incredible sound!
