"Staying almost next door at the Jeanne d'Arc hotel(also highly recommended) we finally got to try this place with its intriguing name. We booked a table but actually didn't need to. Service was very friendly and efficient. It is quite tiny with wonderful stone wall interiors and atmospheric candle lit tables. We chose from the 25 euro menu which allows any starter and dessert but a more limited main choice. It was all exquisitely cooked and presented, a bit simple nursery food for me ( salmon on puréed potato followed by gratin of summer fruits which was hot apricots and crème anglaise, sublime)but more robust steak and foie gras for the other half. House rosé was nothing to write home about. Lovely touches like thick rustic napkins including one fashioned into a bread basket which was replenished unasked. Other guests included chic American girls and older French couples. The staff were happy to speak English to those who needed it. There is a lot of restaurant competition around there including the Epouvantail next door which is very similar and has fabulous food but this place was open in August, a plus! Recommended for a relaxed atmosphere with a real French restaurant feel and unpretentious delicious food."

The waiter explained the menu to us in English and helped us choose. We had the beef and the lamb for mains, both were great! I would recommend this place if you are in the area and are looking for some reasonably priced French cuisine. Best to make a reservation before you go, they are very busy on weeknights too!

My boyfriend and I booked a table after seeing the great reviews and it certainly did not disappoint. We had the perfect table outside overlooking the heart of La Marais, watching the world go by (despite the pouring rain which added to the romance!). The lamb was to die for, profiteroles scrumptious and the local red wine (Le Bourguignon du Marais) was honestly the best I've ever tasted! The waiters were very attentive, yet unintrusive and highly knowledgable about everything on the menu. The popularity of the restaurant was clear from the many locals turning up throughout the evening to dine. Thank you to all the staff for a perfect first anniversary dinner on our first trip to Paris! We c...
