"Myself and my fiancé chose to eat here because of the name which translates to The Squar Goalposts and is reminiscent of a match played by St Étienne in which they missed a goal and blamed the square goalposts. The waiter was efficient and friendly my only minor complaint regarding service was that we had to go into the restaurant to pay at the end because we couldn 't get anyone 's attention. To be fair, this wasn 't a hardship, and the place was extremely busy by this point. We ordered at around 19.30, which seemed to be the start of dinner time, although I 'm sure they serve food earlier too. We sat in the square and enjoyed the summe heat. I ordered a Salade Fermière which was huuuuge, filling and delicious. It came at the same time as my financé 's starter (a smaller version of my main, but massive for a starter! and took me until he had finished his main to finish! The potatoe cake was a nice surprise (not really a diet friendly salad FYI! My fiancé had a pizza for main, and was really pleased with it, and then 2 scoops of ice cream for dessert. I think my salad was €11.50 his menu/formulae was €19 so great value. For drinks we had the best demi pêche either of us has ever tasted! Thoroughly recommend."

Arrivals in state-of-the-art service were a bit long but the team up! Always very well served and very good!

The pleasant staff, come immediately to you, take orders quite quickly. The friendly menus, the copious proportions.

It was highly recommended by a few friends. So I decided to try it. Menu is very poor with Cantine food. I really don't understand what people could like there

I recommend we enjoyed it. And special mention for the service that has been exceptionally small attention and benevolence towards us and our 2 children will come back with great pleasure

We went to this restaurant as it's very central in Saint Etienne and we've all heard lots of good things about it. We came a first time before Christmas and the food was delicious, with a great service from the waiters. However, we came again in the evening after Christmas, and the service from the waiters wasn't as good, even bordering rudeness. We were 7 friends trying to catch up after 10years, and maybe we were monopolising some space, but we had very little attention from the waiters, the rare steak one of my friend ordered arrived very well done, and one of the soup was barely warm. Unsure of what has happened compared to our first visit, but I have to say we were left disappointed.

"I've been a professional chef from a young age. I made restaurants. Trust me just three weeks ago, I wasn't contaminating this place. when I went to eat and make a good deal with the manager. It's amazing I had the chance to visit the kitchen. and see that the burgers breads are made home with overcrowded butter. the meat chopped fresh every day in the drop account at the crisis level. omelettes to compose yourself. worthy of an omelette of a starred chef, fish meats, elbow oil. compose your pates with fresh vegetables. no cans except the concentrated Essentials of Fresh Egg Tomato... Daytime Fresh Fish No Frozen Apart from the Ice. The deserts are home, and I forget... very important. the homemade fries cut out of hand. ..the homemade sauces be it Mayonese has the sauce of the day. brief. I'd keep pages when the management's sympathy. cleanliness of sympathy. Even if there is a bit of waiting it really is worth the rainy blow than looking for an industrial burger. A new restaurant. has the irreproachable hygian. a welded team and listened to the client. cook always listens .. he will also make you your weddings. It's all negotiated. a simple kitchen has a more noble kitchen...I forget the couscos make home. the semoule cooked three times has steam. with quality meat. And we're cheating on him. I'm really meeting you with this restaurant. which deserves its place in the large tables worthy of this name on our beautiful St. The beautiful days are coming and there's a ****."
