"This small restaurant ticks all the boxes of satisfaction with the first visit. We had dinner there for two nights and we would return for more if we had more time in beautiful Lyon. Located in old Lyon it is quite pleasant in decoration and...atmosphere. It is run by a middle to third age couple. The lady does the serving and her husband is the chef who occasionally serves the desserts or changes dishes and talks to the clients. They are both so warm hearted and gentle people and they gain immediately your heart. The food is another story of satisfaction and pleasure. There are six starters and six mains. You can order them a la carte but the real hit here are the two menus 29 € and 34 € which are both of incredible value containing a FOUR course dinner starter, main, cheese AND dessert . Whichever you may choose the dishes are all just superb and are all worth trying. For starters, the mushroom soup was something different than ordinary similar recipes. It was not full of milk cream but it was thick and very tasty. The Retrouvailles salad was another big hit: green salad with foie gras and a whole big shrimp. Delicious and generous portion. Finally, the gateau de lapin en jellee a la fleur de thym was the best starter of all, a BIG juicy terrine with big tender rabbit chunks and wonderful herb aromas in a soft gel. The mains were also great. We tried beef steak with grain mustard sauce a heaven for meat lovers , onglet de boeuf with shallots a trademark dish in this restaurant, so delicious and finally the scallops with milk cream and mango!!! a truly fantastic recipe with an outstanding taste . Two choices of cheese, white creamy cheese and the local star Saint Marcellin. The desserts were all put in a big table in the centre of the sale and you could inspect them all and choose the one you like great idea Small list of wines from which our good waitress proposed to us a very good Chardonay. Reasonable price for all that quality and quantity. Most of all, however, what made me rank it with five points and not only four was the whole sense of hospitality, service and grandma quality of food, all offered with a smile from the owners. It was really a unique experience. VERY STRONGLY RECOMMENDED"

Nice food, you will not be hungry for sure! Local food, and very tasty. The service is very nice. We were lucky we got there without booking and that s not recommended in Lyon. Fortunately we were just a couple. After that dinner you just...keep walking in the old town :

vieux lyon can be difficult to find a good place. we did not want a highit toity michelin square, but also did not want a tourist trap. this place is perfect. Traditional dishes that are perfectly cooked. dessert is sorted and amazing. exactly what we hoped for dinner...our in vieux lyon:

I am so sad to say that I had such high hopes, but the need we ordered was literally swimming in a pool of oil and “rare” in France is raw. Good to know : . While they did cook it more for us, my husband...was sick the entire next day and could not leave the hotel room. Completely ruining one of our only three days in the beautiful Lyon.

Looks like a bouchon at first glance, but is in fact a 'regular' restaurant. I am limited to restaurant menu French, but we were made very welcome by the owners chef, as usual at such Lyon restaurants. Really excellent food of an unpretentious sort, including standards...from Lyon and France in general. A wide range of desserts laid out on a central table. Not expensive. On our list to return to on our next visit.

Terrific foods with entrees and plats varied between salads, meats, steak and seafood...Very fair prices...nice 4 course prix fixe for 2 and carafe of wine for under 80 euros...we also got Suze...the French apertif wine...dinner came with an amuse bouche...served by warm lovely woman owner...and I think her husband ran the open kitchen...classic French...very warm service...much better than the more commercial bouchons brasseries closer to the river...went twice...everything delicious...

a recommendation from a college friend who spent six months in lyon as an adult led us to this cozy and authentic regional restaurant at the rande of vieux lyon. we had a very good meal with much sharpener between us and the...Deins at the tables near. a particularly good dish was the escargot and cancer casrole, like the pate de foie gras with garnelensalat. another tasty bite was the kokoskuchen to complete the dinner. there are sorrows that the peculiarities can sell after forty years, so go sooner than later, and wish them a bonne soiree.

"My wife and I dined here on a Saturday night (having made a reservation several days in advance), and it was one of the best dining experiences we have had in France in a long time. We reserved for the early seating, showed up on time, and were among the first customers there. We had a small table near the door. The disadvantage is that we were occasionally wafted by a cold draft from the front door. The bigger advantage was that we were sitting near the restaurant's beautiful, precision, hand-operated meat slicer. The specialty starter is beef that has been cured for seven months with seven spices. It is sliced paper thin (and that is no exaggeration) and served heaped on a plate. Heavenly. My wife and I ordered only one of these plates and it was more than ample for the two of us.That was followed by our starters. I ordered the minestrone marocain légèrement épicé comme à Tanger (Moroccan minestrone, lightly spiced as in Tangiers), and my wife the rillettes de crabe aux petits légumes et Granny Smith (shredded crab with little vegetables and pieces of Granny Smith apple). Both were delicious. For our main dishes I had a pavé de cerf (deer steak), which was ample and perfectly cooked. My wife had fish, also cooked to perfection. I don't recall the wine we ordered, but the choice was from wines that were at their peak (not just wines one or two years old), yet the prices were reasonable. One remark about the decore: it manages to be a bit traditional and modern at the same time, with reproductions of paintings by Modigliani and various early 20th-century (mainly French) artists adorning the wall.Overall, a restaurant worth going out of your way for."
