"We ate here twice in large groups. We had high hopes as local friends had recommended it. But although some dishes were acceptable, too many were poorly conceived or executed. My merlan (fish) was seriously overcooked, and the cold leeks with poached egg was simply odd. On my first visit I had braised vegetables also with poached egg and that didn't work either. My wife had a maigret (sic) a duck breast which was completely tasteless. The service was friendly but too slow and we were all seriously underwhelmed. They serve lampreys which is unusual, and I can't complain about them. But they are an acquired taste which I failed to acquire. Wines were not too pricey with many local ones."

Been coming here for a few years now, and it has its ups and downs while service is always (slow) but happy and attentive. But the menu and the prices? What gives? Poor choices and average cooking with terrible children's menu. Mains are super charged rising easily to crazy. Food was honestly boring, under seasoned, with a drought of sources. There are so many things that fall short that when the bill comes you feel hurt. Too much cash. Too little imagination. Far too little attention. Why has this lovely spot become a cynical trap. I'm sure things will boom again. Hope it's not too long.

"Enoteca has only been going 6 months or so which may explain the lack of reviews on TripAdvisor but don't let that put you off dining here. We'd been staying close by for the week and hadn't realised at first that this restaurant is also linked to a great little deli about 10 doors down on the same rue. So you have two great places to discover! We stopped in there for a glass of wine first in the last of the days sun before heading to the restaurant for dinner. The owner is a lovely, attentive guy who is clearly very passionate about his Italian produce; food and wine! Over dinner we were well looked after and shared delicious burrata as starter, followed by two authentic Italian pasta dishes for main course. The beef in mine was rich and tender, obviously having been cooked for hours. Dessert were small coffees with a delicious citrus mouse on the side and plenty of biscotti biscuits to dip. Drinks wise we'd enjoyed a glass of white at the deli but moved onto passionfruit spritz for aperitifs followed by a delicious Nero d'Avola to match our mains. This red was fantastically smooth and fruity, with no hint of tannins in the after taste. I was surprised that the place wasn't packed out on a Friday night but there is a festival in town for a couple of days so that could be keeping people busy, but this place will surely gain in popularity and in the rankings in Nimes very soon. Recommend this Italian restaurant which suits this French city drenched in Roman history!"
