"...we made it to a Mexican and Cuban restaurant with a brilliant cocktail bar too. It was a little place in Royal Oak called Loco Mexicano'. The best thing amount small places that aren't a part of a franchise is you get amazing quality food for your money and a reasonable price. After a lot of choosing, we went started off our meal with a starter. We ordered spicy chicken nachos, which were the best nachos I have ever had. The salsa was handmade, not something that did not come in a bottle. It was covered beautifully in cheese and the chicken was covered in a dry roasted spicy sauce. After starters, we decided to mix things up for the main course. I have not had a good steak in a...read more"

Nice food and great service. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is nice with a Mexican edge. Nice place to visit every few months. I wouldn't personally visit more frequently than that +They serve halal food+ View menu

Serves halal chicken and beef. Waiter also said they cook it separate from pork Food was good, nothing to complain about. The service was good as there wasn't many customers and plenty of staff. Would give them another visit

A perfect Mexican restaurant. Had jalapeño cheese poppers, chicken and beef nachos, and beef burrito with sour cream and guacamole. Had really big and generous chunks of beef. Filled me to the throat. And to finished my pallet with toffee waffle with toffee ice cream. A must try Mexican restaurant

A restaurant that really expressed that Mexican theme, through the decoration, service and food. The waiters and waitresses all dressed up in Mexican outfits, along with salsa music playing in the background. My friend and I enjoyed the Nachos for starters, followed by a spicy Mexican steak, and then we had ice-cream for a dessert. We indulged in a cheeky cocktail to end a lovely evening. View menu

originality is the first and most important thing I'm looking for in a Mexican restaurant. Meat-and-melt-cartilla fillings, BBQ sauce kits, and the good old Sharing plates from nachos with fatty flavors could be traditional clips (or not, as a Mexican friend assures me that some local like these eat on a daily basis) but as far as I am concerned, they have stopped being interesting for a long time unfortunately this menu of loco offers meic a sin I can only forgive when there is a high quality to make out lack of imagination. her armbandline, Mexican Cuban cantina cocktailbar does little to help with it: it makes me as suspicious as I feel when I go...read more

I'm not a big fan of Mexican cuisine, so I was a little hesitant when I agreed here and more to midday when I had to put up the order. I had the spicy chicken burrito; my sister and friend ordered peri peri chicken with grilled ananas and spicy chicken chimichangas. for drinks I had limonade during the week the restaurant was completely empty. the food came after minutes. it was a massive part. but the burrito was spectacular. it was so soft and cheesy. the salate was fresh. it was a beautiful, hearty meal. I tried the chimichanga, which is in the ground deep roasted burrito, but it was super delicious. my sister enjoyed her peri peri chicken much. so all...read more

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
