Breathtaking panoramic views of the Rhine River valley and surrounding area from the terrace. Excellent food and service. Extensive wine cellar including many local wines. A memorable dinner.

It is definitely out of the way, but so worth the trip. Atop a mountain, the view is amazing...one can see all of the seven mountains, with special emphasis on Petersburg and Drachenfels. Be sure to call ahead for opening hours as this place is...not open everyday.

We ate here with friends 16 years ago and enjoyed another dinner here again with the same friends this month. The excellent meals were complemented by the magnificent view over the Rhine, which cannot be built out. A really good evening sitting outside in the...setting sun.

beautiful restaurant with many indoor and outdoor areas. the choices in the menu are basic, but good quality. outside is only self-service. be ready for long queues at busy weeks. the staff was very friendly. the best is the absolutely breathtaking view. over the Rhine Valley and the seven mountains.

Unter der Leitung von Lutter&Wegner geht es aufwärts, auf der Terasse Selbstbedienung Essen wird serviert, schöne gemütliche Ausstattung trotz großen Ansturms waren die Wartezeiten erträglich. Essen prima und wie aus Berlin gewohnt, prima Augustiner Bier aus München und die Aussichten auf Drachenfels Rheintal ein Traum.

We were eating in yheir (covered) beergarden which offers only a few dishes. We selected fish (dorade), very nice and well prepared. The waiting time washowever very long. Some time ago duting the week I had dinner in their restaurant and that was much...better slthough without the nice view which the beergarden offers. By the way, they have Munich beer (Augustiner) on tab which is really a nice detail.

As you can see my review is the first one written in English.That is a typical restaurant only for german people.The lady who was serving there could not understand even a word in english,or french or any other language.The menu is very small,you have few...options and all written in german.Luckily I speak german and could understand everything.The place is beautiful,clean and confortable.The access for old or disabled people is very difficult or even impossible.But,once you are there the atmosphere is nice,the food(typical german) very good and the dessert also.The wine,due to the region Rhine,is always good.The view is breathtaking.But,if I return to Germany I would not go there again! to the birthday dinner of my wife we went to the rolandsbogen to enjoy the beautiful view over the Rhine Valley, combined with good food and wine. our adult children enjoyed the pork fillet on calvados frame. very good. my wife had the razing and surfing. duett vom eifler rinderfilet und black tiger garnele, excellent roasted medium with beautiful boiled mushroom risotto. I had half the duck with orange sauce. it was beautifully presented by removing all bones from inside, great idea. but yes there is a big one, but: it was absolutely not freshly baked, therefore not crispy at all. it was only heated in a microwave instead of an salamander. the flesh was gray and unpleasant to see. the taste...
