No fresh choreander No fresh spring onions, felt 20 grams of cut something with carrots. Instead, a coconut milk soup with some chilli. What do carrots have to look for in such a soup? Main dish duck sweet mad The duck chess and dry. Completely tasteless. The sauce has nothing to do with sweet and sour. Again, carrot this time cut into slices in abundance. 5 bamboo strips from the can. Everything drowned in a creamy sauce, which only tasted sour, in the sense of not edible. The operators were obviously not eating authentic anymore. The website has not been renewed since 2018. The imprint and the privacy policy are not defined and do not work. As music there were Chinese flute music. The setup is very gloomy. The menus are ancient. The tables covered with plastic blankets that were not clean. The menu outside seems to have been a pvc disc for years. The dishes consist of 6-7 sauces, only the meat type is exchanged. Whoever was in Thailand or Vietnam knows what I mean. Ich wollte mal wieder etwas neues kennenlernen und besuchte das Mai in Wattenscheid.Die Tom Kha Gai Suppe war viel zu Kokosmilch lastig und es fehlte an thailändischen Zutaten.Das Massamancurry, eine südthailändische Spezialität war leider auch nicht authentisch. Auf Nachfrage antwortete man mir, es wäre alles eingedeutscht. Schade!Das Ambiente zu 100% chinesisch pur.Jetzt das Highlight, der Service war von Anfang bis Ende absolut top. Besser geht es nicht! Wir waren da zu viert (2 vegan, 2 vegetarisch) und waren alle beeindruckt von der Auswahl an vegetarischen und veganen Gerichten. In asiatischen Restaurants hat man meistens nicht viel zur Wahl, bei Mai gibt es eine separate Seite für die veggie/vegane Vorspeisen und Hauptgerichte. Die vegetarische Nem (vietnamesische frittierte Frühlingsrollen) waren super, auch das vegane Kokossüppchen war richtig gut. Als Hauptspeise hatten wir verschiedene Arten von Currys (Thai rot, gelb, grün und vietnamesisch mit Süßkartoffel), hat uns alles richtig gut geschmeckt.
