"Markthalle Neun is more a food hall than a market and it is getting more touristy these days (especially on Thursday evening when they have "Street Food Thursday"). However, I enjoy its atmosphere quite a lot. Whenever I visit Berlin, I always try to find my way there to eat and have a drink. On a regular "working market" days (wochen markt) on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday, it is much quieter. However, some Spanish tapas vendor, Turkish mezze vendors, and an Italian bakery all open on these regular days. There are also two micro-brewers selling some tasty beers here. On "Street Food Thursday" it is much busier. There are food vendors who come from different parts of Berlin, selling all different types of food. In summer months, it can get quite crowded. Occasionally, they also have some special events. Like in last summer, they had "United Street Food" on Sunday, where street food from countries where many refugees are from are featured, like Syrian and Afghanistan food. There are always interesting food and drinks whenever I visited. One thing to note is that it is not especially easy to find. Though it is not a long walk from Goelitzer Bahnhof station of U-1 Line, the street grid in this neighborhood is not all that sensible. It is better to get some help from you Google Map to find it here!"
