"Returning from a day trip we had no desire to cook and decided to visit a restaurant. The choice came to the Turkish restaurant, which was recently opened at the Westring, whose predecessors in the Kiel Gaarden district have not yet been able to visit. Operation When entering we were greeted by a waiter friendly, he left us the choice between the two wings of the restaurant. Since there was a quite loud men's round in the side room, we chose the treses room and took place there at the proposed table. The waiter immediately supplied us with the menus and asked if we already had a drink request. However, we asked for the time of bed to read the offer of the map. In the further course of our stay in the restaurant he gave information on various questions willing, friendly and exhausting. It also turned out that he had only lived in Germany for five years, for which his German knowledge was very good. The entire appearance was also clearly endeavored, but it was evident that he had not enjoyed any professional training. Food The offer of the card is extensive and of course also contains döner variations, but also numerous dishes with lamb, veal or beef. We had both the pleasure of lamb, Madame chose “Saray Tavasi, sprinkled lamb with zucchini, mushrooms and raisins in spicy curry tomato cream sauce” (13,50 €). I chose “Kuzu Kavurmasi, sprinkled lamb in spicy tomato sauce with peppers, onions and mushrooms (1290 €). As supplements, there were either fried potatoes of oriental type or bulgur rice we both chose. As a drink we ordered a bottle of mineral water (Gerolsteiner medium, 0,75l for 5,60 €, which was also very quickly brought. A short time later, the supplement salads were served as an appetizer, with Fladenbrot. The salads of cucumbers, tomato and mushroom slices, cheered white wort, some rocket and one peperoni and one olive were very beautifully dressed and marveled with abundantly sprinkled herbs. We had not been able to eat the salads completely when the main dishes were already served. Redally coloured Bulgur accompanied the two different ragouts, on the edge of the plate there was a salad leaf with piquant tomato puree and cacik. The food was hot, the vegetables were fresh and had bites. The lamb was of very good quality and very delicate, both dishes were distinctly spiced and very tasty. Anyone who understands Turkish cuisine only “Döner mit alles” can experience a clear and positive surprise here. Ambiente The restaurant was redesigned with great effort, who knew the predecessor, the Asian restaurant “Golden Anh”, will not recognize the premises again. Many decorative pieces were obviously selected with great care. The furniture is of course new, the tables were covered with white fabric tablecloths, on which were red table runners. The places were covered with cutlery and napkins. On each table there was a candle in silver candle, a glass vase with a flower and salt and pepper mills made of acrylic. Cleanliness At first glance the restaurant was very clean, but the tablecloth had two small sauce stains. In contrast, glasses, dishes and cutlery were perfectly clean. The toilets were a little tight, but also clean, there was no reason to complain."

Türkische Küche in einem sehr schön gestalteten Restaurant. Die Preise sind in Ordnung und das Essen wirklich ausgezeichnet.

Sehr gute Auswahl an orientalischen Gerichten. Die Hauptspeise war für meinen Vater etwas zu scharf. Die Knafeh war ein Traum, wir mussten darauf allerdings sehr lange darauf warten. Das Warten hat sich allerdings sehr gelohnt!!!

Das Lokal macht einen offenen und freundlichen Eindruck, kein türkischer Barock, eher Deko-Style. Die umfangreiche Karte bietet türkisch bzw. orientalische Küche in traditioneller Ausrichtung, ausgesprochen schmackhaft und in der Menge nicht kleinlich. Der Service ist sehr bemüht, nicht unbedingt höchstprofessionell, aber freundlich und nett.

Durch den Tipp einer Kollegin haben wir mit Freunden das Mega Saray ausprobiert. Das Essen war super lecker , die Atmosphäre angenehm, die Bedienung freundlich...nur die mit "Plastik " bezogenen Stühle waren aufgrund der fehlenden Luftzirkulation mit zunehmendem Verlauf zu warm ;-)Alles in allem können wir dieses Restaurant aber empfehlen und werden selbst bestimmt wiederkommen.

Dickes minus : Kindergerichte gibt es nicht für Erwachsene, warum? Wenn man Gerichte nicht kennt und probieren will? So wird man gezwungen große teuere Portion zu holen und bei nicht gefallen eben die Katze im Sack kauft. Musste meine Partnerin, sie war nicht begeistert. So lag die min doppelte Menge auf dem Teller ungegessen. Konzept nochmal überdenken. Oder Probierteller einführen.

Seit Eröffnung gehe ich regelmäßig privat, geschäftlich und mit meinem Stammtisch dort essen und bin jedes Mal begeistert vom Essen und dem Personal. Sämtliche Bekannte die ich dorthin schicke, kommen mit derselben Einschätzung wieder. Zudem gefällt mir die Einrichtung und der Umstand, dass trotz vieler Besucher eine ruhige Atmosphäre herrscht. Nachdem ich neulich den Wirt kennenlernnen durfte, rundet sich das psitive Bild für mich ab.

Nach erfreulichen Besuchen nach der Eröffnung, muss man jetzt leider sagen, dass die Küche stark nachgelassen hat.Wir waren im Oktober mit vier Personen zum Abendessen im Mega Saray und waren enttäuscht. Die Beilagen zu allen Gerichten beschränken sich auf Bratkartoffeln (türkisch ??) und Bulgur. Bulgur kann sehr lecker und variationsreich zubereitet werden. Hier ist er jedoch nur eine rot eingefärbte Masse ohne Eigengeschmack und lieblos.Der Döner als Tellergericht war leider auch nur länger warmgehaltenes Fleisch, keine Spur von der Knusprigkeit des Grills oder spezieller Gewürze. Auch fehlte eine Knoblauchcreme oder ähnliches: nur der rote Bulgur, fades, labriges Fleisch und die obligate...
