"I went there on my second day of holidays in Varigotti. The place is located in the only and main road of the city. The inside is really nice, with an exposition of the fresh fish of the day. I would have preferred a bit of music in the background though, a bit too silent. After we sat, the owner offered us some appetizers and a little glass of Prosecco, really nice hospitality. We ordered 3 Antipasti of fresh seafood to start with and 3 other dishes of fish as main courses. What to say; the fish is simply amazing, really fresh and tasty, like it came straight from the sea. However, what was lacking were the other ingredients in the plates, were a bit bland and too simple, which did not enhance the flavour of the fish. Somehow I felt like it was waisted a little bit. However we still enjoyed the whole experience. With the desserts I was happily surprised they were served on a trolley, typically called Carrello dei dolci in Italian. This is a typical way to present the dishes back in the days, and I really appreciated the touch. Nonetheless, the desserts we picked were all amazing and really tasty. In total we spent 238€ with 2 bottles or sparkling water and 2 glasses each of 2 different white wines. Definitely a place to check out, especially for the Desserts Trolley . However, I would suggest to work on the other ingredients which come with the dishes, to increase even more the culinary experience."

Very high quality sea food. Great view and good service. They display the catch of the day very nicely and you can see the cook grilling. Furthermore they have a really nice selection of desserts.

We stopped by Varigotti for a quick lunch, and a friend recommended La Muraglia to us. As this place is all about high quality seafood, we ordered a sample of different starters, and then Spaghetti alle Vongole and grilled squid with calamari. Quality, taste and presentation were excellent, the only small drawback is that most dishes come with an elevated price tag (EUR 20-40) compared to some of the alternatives around.

Career Oscar to the owner and Chef for his passion for cooking and true italian flavours that you can taste and enjoy in the excellent fish dishes proposed. Indeed few aspects (the welcome prosecco, missing AC, homestyle but at the end friendly service) are not exactly in line with Michelin starred standards but after you start to taste the food and get along with the staff you forget the Michelin and enjoy some of the best fish receipts you may find. The wine list is also excellent. Absolutely deserves a stop for a realxed and tasty stop on the Riviera

Bravi! Ci ritorneremo! consigliatissimo!...unica pecca....riservate per tempo, altrimenti è dura!

It is not cheap and the service could be a bit more up to speed, but the food, i.e. fish whatever the sea offers is of top notch quailty. I liked that most of it comes from the grill, is prepared very slowly, hence not dried out, and one can watch the chef preparing the food. The choice is really good, and the side dishes offer all you need. There is no meat available, just in case. And they offer only ONE pasta dish (at least when we were there, but I am sure the have other pasta dishes when being asked). If you are willing to pay up, go there, but you should make a reservation timely ahead.

We visited Muraglia several times this summer. My children enjoy the sumptuous cozze alla marinara and the various primi (pasta dishes). Antipasti are exceptional and the selection is amongst uncommon combinations of the highest quality. Every time (we came several times for lunch and often for dinner) the baskets displaying the fishes were full of the real fresh catch that is rarer and rarer. The carrello dei dolci is an irresistible temptation. Wine list mostly local, some Burgundy, white and red, would not be a bad addition. EXPENSIVE (150 pax) but always very busy. If you can afford it...

Muraglia is a small family owned and managed restaurant, it has been in Varigotti for more than three decades and chef Enzo specialty is fish in all possible declination. Everything is in-house made, bread and pasta included. The menu is not very extensive because everything is based on the fishermans daily catch. The pastas are extraordinary, I had the mezzi paccheri al ragù di pesce da scoglio, the fish meat was so well balanced in a red sauce and the pasta had the right shape to catch all together. We had a fritto misto that at the first sight looks the same stuff you can eat everywhere in Liguria, but then you realize the amazing amount of different species of fish and shellfish you have...

Has it really been 7 years since we have been here? Before that, we made 4 or 5 visits in several decades. Without a car, it takes some planning and patience: train to Finale Ligure, then a bus or cab the rest of the way: but it is worth it, both for the lovely food and the attractive village. Michelin retracted a star some eight or nine years ago, but the kitchen continues to produce lovely sophisticated dishes. The service is a bit formal; they are here to serve you, not be your friend. The menu and wine list are somewhat limited, but it makes more sense to do everything well than to stretch too far. Within yards of the ocean, the emphasis is clearly on seafood and shell fish. The pasta is...
