"I can 't thank the ladies at murton enough. I visited one morning with a child that I support who has additional needs and is also in a wheelchair and the ladies was so accommodating. I asked for a hot chocolate to be nice and cool with extra napkins I also ordered a cup of tea and cakes. My tea bag was burst and without question they remade my tea while I was asking for this my service user had got hold of the hot chocolate and spilled it all over the floor. With a smile and a cheeky laugh the lady 's cleaned this up (with my help) and without complaint. They put on the farm video also as we was unable to access the farm due to weather and we loved watching the animals going about their day. The lady 's chatted to my service user who showed them how to say thank you in makaton and they said thank you in makaton to him for visiting. Without a doubt I would highly recommend a visit for anyone who supports someone with additional needs altho the coffee shop was quiet I am sure the service would be the same on each visit. Keep up the good work ladies and we will visit again soon."

Very well organised for social distancing with friendly and helpful staff and spotlessly clean toilets. Scones were amazing!

This is a lovely little cafe on the Nature Park there is a lovely 1 hour walk around the park and the lakes, and this place is friendly with good quality sandwiches and the most massive fresh baked sweet and savory scones

Visited 22nd Jan. What a great place to visit. The nature reserve is excellent. Then popped in the Tea Room for a coffee, I was greeted by lovely staff. The cake selection was amazing. Served by Molly who couldn’t do enough to help. Will definitely visit again. Thankyou Murton. View menu

We enjoyed a lovely coffee and scone shortbread to celebrate my sister's birthday today the sun was out so we sat outside the lady who served us, Jenny, was so friendly and had all the qualities of a super waitress. We also met Molly, her colleague, was also happy in her job. These attributes are often missing when we have visited other cafes it goes along way to meet s

Visited for a quick coffee after a long walk, seen that they done cheesecake so thought we’d order a slice to share, as we’d just done a big walk. It was the best cheesecake I have ever tasted. Obviously a lot of passion and effort goes into making it. I couldn’t leave without taking some home so I bought the whole slab. Took some to give to my parents too. Very cosy wee tearoom, lots of choice and coffee very tasty too. Will be back again soon for more cheesecake. The girls are also very friendly and welcoming. Hidden gem.

Our family loves Murton Farm and it's a great place for children. However, we have been disappointed with the food on multiple occasions. I ordered paninis for myself and my daughter and was told it would take 20 minutes, but they took nearly 40 minutes to arrive. The cheese panini for my daughter was very small, and she was hungry again soon after. The staff were friendly and apologetic, but the wait for food is always substantial, even when it's not very busy. While I understand that small businesses are facing challenges, the portion size for the kids' panini was not worth the cost. Despite this, the farm itself is fantastic and worth a visit. View menu

Made a last minute decision to go out for a family lunch and was very disappointed with the quality and quantity of food. Ordered a baked potato with baked beans and could almost count the amount of beans put inside the baked potato. Very small portion of grated cheese in the cheese option too but could accept this a little easier as some cheeses are quite expensive. But baked beans can be purchased for around a tin. Also ordered a cheese and ham toasted sandwich, and again there was so little cheese in it. In fact, suffice to say there was only one thin slice of cheese covering a quarter of the toastie. On bringing this to the attention of staff, the woman was very pleasant and apologetic a...

"Overall, we had a disappointing family meal at the local restaurant. We booked for a table of 12 for my mum's birthday. We were the only table when we arrived. Another table of 2 arrived during our main course. There was a friendly informal server when we arrived though I got the impression he was not a formal waiter as he did not know much about the menu. He also disappeared after a short time. After this time, we were served by one of the kitchen staff. Obviously, this led to inadequate and slow service. The meals were served very slowly. We had no option to order more drinks throughout the meal. Our main course plates were not taken away after we finished and after waiting for a while we decided just to leave and get deserts at home. Some comments about the food. We were told when we first arrived that there were no steaks. That reduced our options considerably. However, what surprised us was one of the diners at the other table was served a steak! We were told that they do not have tomato sauce. This is highly unusual for a restaurant that serves steak, burgers and chicken tenders with chips. One of our party member nipped down the road to a local shop and bought a bottle ketchup for the table. The food was okay but we felt it was very one dimensional. A lot of the dishes were served in a similar manner with the same dressings and toppings. The chips were a little greasy. I would have wished that our experience was better but unfortunately it wasn't so. I understand how difficult it must be for the restaurant trade just now and we try and support local businesses. However, we would still expecting decent service and food. I tried to message the restaurant in the first instance for a response but have not received any reply."
