"Thank you to Moyra and her team for fitting the 5 of us in at very short notice. The 2 roast meals were excellent value for money and arrived absolutely piping hot. Both the beef and pork were succulent and portion sizes were plentiful. Both the scampi and cod and chips were well cooked and beautiful crispy outside/ soft inside … just as we like them! The final ham sandwich plate was just as good as the rest. The dessert of bread and butter pudding with custard certainly silenced the table ….. very very delicious!! The garden is beautifully kept and even the sun shone for us so yes, I would recommend this place if in the area."

Went here for dinner the other day and the food was well cooked and very flavorful. The environment is very relaxing and the lady who runs it is lovely. Would highly recommend.

We are staying in Whitecroft for the weekend ,and decided to visit The Nags Head for sunday lunch. We really enjoyed our experience, food was excellent and very good value for money. If we are ever in the area we would definitely return.

This restaurant in the Forest of Dean serves the best Sunday lunch I have ever had. All of their desserts are homemade and delicious. I highly recommend trying this place out, you will not be let down. It is also the only pub in the area that has original features and serves proper forest pub food.

Went for Sunday Lunch for my birthday and wasn't disappointed the food was lovely, lots of roast and 8 different types of veg. All my family enjoyed it and even though we were stuffed managed to squeeze in a pudding. Very reasonable prices, welcoming atmosphere and great service would definitely go again.

We went out for a family meal to celebrate my 50th birthday, as my dad lives in Yorkley. Moyra is always very accommodating. The food is delicious and homemade, with fair prices. The people who live in the area are very friendly. The restaurant is also dog friendly. We will definitely return in the future.

We visited this restaurant during the middle of the week since we were staying nearby. It is a charming and welcoming traditional place. Upon a recommendation from another couple, we tried the Steak pie, which was homemade by the owner and incredibly tasty. We were disappointed that we couldn't return during this visit, but we will definitely come back next time we are in Yorkley.

Delicious tender Sunday roast with two kinds of potatoes and six different vegetables, with two gravy boats between four of us. Choice of FIFTEEN different puddings! And came to £55 for the four of us including one pint and three soft drinks. In hindsight, we should have sat outside as the inside filled up around 1:00 and tables were not socially distant. Staff were very friendly and attentive and wore masks.

Slightly out of the way wouldn’t have found it if not for ‘restaurants near me’ from Tripadvisor but very glad we did. Real, proper well cooked ‘Home pub food’ and huge servings with near instant service from a really friendly bunch of people felt like a locals pub but we were made very welcome with our three dogs. And as for the bill ‘Are you sure that’s enough?’ £30 for two courses for four people! Amazing Value! Only key thing cash only! They did tell us when we called to book in.

We visit the Forest Of Dean every couple of years and visit the Nags Head each time. Their standards are still incredibly high and unbelievably modestly priced four meals with drinks for well under £50. Most of the main meal choices are roast dinners (the beef was very well received) stacked with a wide range of vegetables. All desserts are homemade and top quality. We sat outside there is a large lawned area at the front of the pub. Some tables have an umbrella. Take note the pub operates on cash not cards. If you are in the area make sure you visit this pub highly recommended.
