"Went here using an Amazon local voucher which entitled us to the Set Banquet for 2. We were brought a selection of starters including stuffed pepper and aubergine, falafel with hummus and yogurt all very tasty. The mains selection was a large platter of various lamb and chicken kebabs, chicken wings all succulent and tasty served on a bed of rice and salad. This was served with 2 side bowls of a tomato sauce, one with potatoes and one with okra and a large fresh flat bread. Dessert was rose ice cream and one piece each of turkish delight and baklava. Informal, relaxing and very friendly. Great choice of dishes, also for vegetarians/vegans. Large portions.

I was impressed by Nawroz. It offered accurately prepared, well presented dishes, with good quality ingredients, for an extremely reasonable price

It seems that I’d been cursed with food envy again. James ordered the Tshreeb ba Gosht; lamb slowly cooked on the bone with chopped tomatoes, onions, and peppers and served in a naan bread bowl.

The food at this restaurant was expertly prepared, the staff were friendly, and the atmosphere was beautiful. I will definitely be returning soon, even though it is a bit pricey. I would rate it 8 out of 10, but recommend avoiding it during festivals.

Basically a Middle East restaurant with some Kurdish specialities. Everything on the menu looked good and what we had tasted good. Service was reasonably prompt, and always courteous. Perhaps not that much for vegetarians, tho that wasn't an issue for our party

We were so pleased with our lunch stop here. The interior is beautifully decorated with exotic Kurdish Iranian texts and wall hangings. The lively Iranian music really added to the atmosphere. The service was quick and friendly, and the affordable 2 and 3-course meals were just right. We enjoyed hummus, fattoush, tipi, and lamb shawarma, all delicious. Don't forget to try the Turkish coffee to help you avoid that post-lunch slump. Highly recommend this place.

I recently visited Nawroz using a Groupon voucher for their set banquet for 2, and it was delicious. From the tasty selection of appetizers (stuffed vine leaves, falafel, and hummus) to the generous main dish, which featured a large plate of lamb and chicken meat on a bed of rice and salad, all served with dips and flatbread. The dessert was a luscious (and large) saffron ice cream, which was just as delicious as it looked. The staff were also very friendly and made sure we understood what we were eating.

prinz gastronome. put the rear-wheeler until november 2013. I am on a two-week trip in Edinburgh for reasons that are not related to life means. As a food blogger, however, I have at least one restaurant experience every day for the purposes of my reviews. I thought, given the amount of going I would have done, I had no problem keeping my weight. at the end of the two weeks I had won ten pounds. there are restaurants like nawroz. is that a critical review? not in the least. I'm just saying that with almost any restaurant I was in, I've never seen more generous in service and serving than companies specializing in...read more

Good food, good prices. I've eaten here twice on the lunchtime deal (seven pounds for two courses). Both times I've been extremely happy with the food, and the service has been fine. The lentil soup (the only starter I've had) was tasty and warming (and both visits were in deepest December My half-brother had the Fatosh salad with pieces of fried bread which was fine if you like lettuce! The lamb kebabs were fresh, tasty, the edges pleasantly charred whilst the rest of the meat was still succulent. The Tapsi great for vegetarians and very tasty was a mixture of green peppers, aubergine (beautifully cooked, for a vegetable which many people seem to get wrong) and potato in a...read more
