"new kapitel has caught my attention after I was on top ten on trip advisor only months after the opening in the oktober last year. that and the fact that it is open for my early january birthday, made it the perfect place to celebrate to become a little older. I was with the man and his family. the man is quite used to my taste and good to the kind of kitchen that would appeal to me for a special occasion; his family not so much and I was filled with shame as his mother scornful went through the menu trying to find something she would enjoy. I've eaten with the family of the man, and I know they enjoy eating, so I think it's a failure of the menu that it is not accessible. the benming always blooming and garnish can appeal to some, but for others it is overcomplicated and it is necessary to find a balance between the two. we start with the starters and I go for venison sour wort pithvier. the venison was underheated and incredibly dry, to the happiness the sourded a little moisturizing and so saved the whole dish, but the aromen were quite not clear, except the garnitur of plastered mushrooms I thoroughly enjoyed. for the largest part we chose a fish dish for our main,- sea trout, smoked muddles, petersilien and coast herbs. where the starter fell, the main recording is getting back. the dish is rich and creamy, and each element adds the complexity of the taste as a whole, without disturbing. the concept is now an old one, and it would be deceptive if it had not worked, as it would essentially pay with this place. I enjoyed my meal in new chapter, although I do not agree with it is stellar status under the hierarchy of edinburgh eateries. it is top ten position is just a flash in the pan of hot popularity, and in time it will be plated in the upper half of the middle stage where it belongs. and that is where it belongs, the dishes can be plated with a michelin star in understood, and the venue and the supporting media has the clean lines and empty slate look of fine but eat the team has a long gone to go if that is their real aim. at the end, although it was a beautiful meal, and cheap (at the moment I would not be surprised to see their prices slowly rise) and the man’s mother found something they enjoyed and that is the most important."

a lunch for my wife's birthday. aga was professional, friendly and friendly. it is a credit to the place. eating was simply wonderful and the chefs had much annoyed about what was a lunch set menu.

Wow! This dinner was incredible. My husband said he had never had good this good. Especially the starters, such a great balance of flavours and well thought about dishes. Would highly recommend. Staff were great and the right about of attentiveness.

It deserves more than 5 stars, to be honest. My wife and I had the best dining experience here in Edinburgh so far. The environment was very relaxing, the staff were very nice and the food was fantastic! fresh and delicious! The presentations were good and appealing. Love that! View menu

We had the most exquisite meal here; family friendly too! They catered for our six year old son by frying a fillet of cod and serving with triple cooked chips. He absolutely loved it. Somehow they manage to be extremely warm, friendly, professional and formal at the same time. We would honestly come back every night if we could.

we came to dinner and we loved it absolutely. eating is delicious, I recomend the scallops and the steak. the steak was cooked to perfection! my friends had the dumbest and they loved it too. the service is a very friendly staff that treats us like a royal treatment. I just loved it. I'm 100% again. many thanks to the team there and well made to the cook.

Food was unbelievably good, the house cocktails were refreshing and unique. Sometimes fine dining can be intimidating and so pricey for what you get; this place was worth every penny. The portions were just the right amount- satisfying, but not so much of it that you can't finish it. Perfect place to splurge on a special occasion, or to make your regular spot. View menu

We found New Chapter through a Google recommendation of nice restaurants in the area and were not disappointed! The food was delicious and the staff was super friendly and welcoming. We had a three course menu and alcoholic beverages and spend about 110 pounds for two people which I personally find very decent for such high quality food. The produces where local and seasonal which is important to me. The flavours of each of our dishes were complex but not overwhelming. My highlight was the beef cheek- super tender and delicious. Would eat there regularly if I lived in the neighbourhood.

we made it to new chapter last night after we heard great things about the restaurant. young we were happy that we, eating was amazing, I chose the Scotch egg starter, this bore no similarity with the super market picnic food, it was luscious with the egg still soft and surrounded by points of the inherited purée, fresh heaps and pea shoots, I was in the sky. it followed the pork press that I had many paintings this cut, but this was beautifully presented with a slowly boiled pork and baby beet, delicious. the personal was attentive and friendly, the other diners were a real baptism, which meant high deck that conversation was possible. all in all a winner, we will be back
