"Visiting Casa Bacardi was one of my main reasons for visiting Sitges. I wanted a day trip to a smaller town, and I found it really interesting that Bacardi had this connection to Spain. The tour wouldn 't book properly online so I contacted Bacardi directly to ask for assistance. They were very prompt in answering and helped me get placed on the tour. The staff online and in Sitges was incredibly friendly and helpful. The tour was pretty basic in terms of rum making, but the history portion was interesting. Next was the portion where they show us how to make cocktails. They demonstrated a couple of different ones, a mojito and a Cuba libre. Then I was shocked at what came next. Everyone was supposed to take a straw and try it as in the same drink in the same cup. I 'm sorry, but that is disgusting. Backwash happens, friends! I was so grossed out. They did that for the next drink as well. What was left in the glass after everyone 's straw sucking was then offered as, Hey guys! It 's free! Seriously?! Needless to say, I didn 't try these drinks. I think they should have poured them into little sample cups like the rum we tried or not have us sample them at all. Even stranger, I seemed to be the only person bothered by this. Perhaps everyone was feeling loopy from the rum samples? Then we made our own drinks which was more sanitary. I made a mojito and although I 've made mojito before, their method was a little different, so I learned something. They also had that good ice which makes an excellent mojito, you know what I 'm talking about, the little crushed ice they have at places like Sonic. The whole ten people sharing a drink thing really wasn 't ok. I wouldn 't do this tour unless you were in the area and have run out of things to do."

I have to say I was very excited about the experience and had to wait two days because they were closed on Monday and Tuesday. Having done the factory tour in the Bahamas, now closed btw and tours of BACARDÍ elsewhere I would have to say this place is a waste of time. The tour guides were polite, but the bartender teaching the class had attitude!. I'll never be back here and would recommend a YouTube class instead.

Most question why is Casa Bacardi, better known as having its foundations in Cuba, located in Sitges. The answer is rather simple as the founder, Funco Bacardi Masso, was originally a Spanish wine merchant was born in Sitges, Catalonia, Spain in 1814 and didn't immigrate to Cuba until 1830. Though the records are rather scant, it is believed that he first started his rum, then considered a rather lowly and foul tasting drink, experimentation which he later perfected in Cuba using a yeast formulation, now proprietary and still used to this day, along with oak barrel and charcoal aging. Casa Bacardi has a rather small museum offering tours in English (be sure to select the correct tour) for 9...

Drinks: 5/5 (depends, you make it yourself) Service: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Decor Style: 5/5 The best beverage tour i 've ever been to! Not only do they give you a history tour of Bacardi, but they also show you step by step how to make an original Bacardi Cuban Mojito! And yes, you get to drink what you make. The tour group size is small, so it makes it even more personal (I think our group had 12-15 people). It typically costs 8 Euro per person, unless you can find a free/discount deal/coupon somewhere else. There 's nothing much else I can say. I 'll quote some of the things from the website and just view my pics and you 'll surely get the jist. The tours are guided by BACARDI Brand Ambassa...

"you enter and the first thing you see is the seafood and fish exhibitor, well organized, with quite parsley as decoration, the employees are very friendly, they explain in detail the functioning of the restaurant, they speak to you in 4 languages: Spanish, Catalan, English and French, I know because while we waited we saw them attending to those who were ahead, several foreigners because sitges is very appreciated by foreigners. the price quality ratio is quite good, because you can not expect to eat good seafood and pay it at the menu of mcdonalds. people who have written that it is expensive, do not see news, are not aware that prices vary in everything. that naive. the quality is very good, the delicious preparation and if you want more it is as easy as to go back to the exhibitor and order it. If you compare prices to how you find for example at the supermarket, you will realize that the difference is not much, and there they prepare it with waitress. the atmosphere is pleasant, and the space is lending to spend a while with family or friends. currently make reservations, for google it is very easy, you look for it “The Sitges paradeta” and you will see it easy. I have had the opportunity to go to all the paradetas that exist and the best in terms of service, cleanliness, order, product, preparation, is undoubtedly the sitges, it will be perhaps because it is the one that is farther found to be more comfortable, because the others are all in barcelone. I totally recommend it, and wow the house salsa is spectacular! do not go thinking about the money, because then it is better to go to Chinese and eat shrimp from Chinese.
