"Ordered a blt toastie and ham salad ,pot of tea and hot chocolate came to just over £21 which i thought was good . Blt came with chips a bit of salad and coleslaw and my partner said it was lovely . I had the ham salad which tasted nice but wasn't good value for money , 2 slices of ham, around 2 or 3 small tomatoes choped up a few slices of cucumber a radish sliced up some corn and loads and loads of lettuce(far to much lettuce) this cost £9.50 . For that price i was expecting some other saled stuff with what i got maybe a boiled egg some grated carrot or beetroot, onion, coleslaw with some chips or new potatoes ."

The breakfast sandwich was fantastic, the coffee was excellent, and the service was really good, all in a prime location at the entrance of the stunning Weardale. I highly recommend it!

We had a lovely time at this café today, enjoying coffee and scones. We’re definitely looking forward to trying some of the lighter dishes and main courses on our next visit. The staff were wonderful, the prices were very reasonable, and the coffee was excellent.

we visited this coffee shop for the first time and were really pleased to find that it was dog friendly. the menus were stuck on the tables that I thought was a great idea, much better than the search for dog papers. the service was very fast, but as we wanted to take our time to decide what to order, the waiter brought us about a pot of much needed tee. we ordered sandwiches that were freshly made and served with a dose chips that were cooked for perfection. will definitely be visited again.

"Burn Appetito clearly has a captive audience in the village of Wolsingham as there is little competition in terms of eating establishments, so I was hoping to be impressed on my second visit as hadn’t been on my first visit. Once again totally disappointed. In most Italian establishments you receive a little bread, olive oil, just something, definitely not here. The wine range was incredibly limited so we chose a decent red, rather expensive. The starters took an age to arrive and I had ordered tomato and basil soup and it came with a 2 inch piece of toasted bread and was hugely disappointing. My partner ordered the special lobster ravioli starter and it was the weirdest tasting dish. The main course I hoped would be better…… my partner ordered fillet steak with prawns and at nearly £35 a dish hoping to be blown away. Imagine the surprise when it arrived with mediocre chips, not one vegetable or pice of garnish in sight and just the steak and 3 prawns! Wow, definitely not wow! I had cannelloni and can safely say it was the worst offering I’ve ever had in an Italian restaurant. It was swimming in what looked like tomato soup and the actual mince was grey. Needless to say I sent it back and ordered a pizza. The experience could be so much better and the shame is for an Italian they didn’t even have proper red wine glasses. We definitely won’t be back unless they have a radical rethink. Only saving Grace is the staff are lovely."

"Oh dear where do I start........ upon arrival at the Bay horse hotel to be told no knowledge of our booking (first problem we were then shown to a room at the back of hotel (problem 2 I had already emailed request of room at front with balcony, still waiting for reply. however got room sorted after short wait (take advantage of bar The room big spacious, comfortable bed, but only luke warm water for the bath luckily we had shower aswell (problem 3 Having read reviews we decided to try the restaurant as we were only booked for one night stay .........what a pity (problem 4 my wife ordered the surf and turf and I opted for the dandy parmo after a short wait the waitress then caught my wife 's attention on the way to the toilet to inform her the butcher had forgotten to deliver the steak that day so can she choose something else. poor excuse has produce was supposed to be sourced locally......onto my choice the chicken was very dry with the breadcrumbs over crisped (burnt the twice cooked chips were all scrap ends, so the meal I would say was uneatable. The annoying thing being having nice background music being drowned out by music coming from the kitchen with the chef trying to sing painfully along, totally unprofessional . Never mind off out to enjoy wolsingham there is always breakfast to save the stay.(problem5 we both went for full English........YIKES.....sausages small misshaped tasteless and burnt black, two rasher 's of bacon like cardboard and fused together ended up eating the poached eggs ,tasting of vinegar so unfortunately the breakfast did not save the stay. Having now deciding to tell the waitress/ manageress of our disappointment with this excuse of a breakfast only to get a verbal apology and a promise of I will have a word with the chef but still charged 4.95 each for the pleasure. Unfortunatley we will not be coming back any time soon"
