"The night started well, great place, great decoration, nice welcome. Lovely waitress. But sadly the food was a let down. Dry pigs cheek. Over cooked haddock, rubbery steak and poor attitude from the owner/manager. No customer service whatsoever. Left standing in restaurant while he went off to talk to the kitchen. It was us that weren't pleased with the food and that should have been good enough. We offered to pay for our drinks and after a lengthy wait we left paying for nothing. After 3 phone calls from him and no apology he is reporting us to the police for doing a runner. We are in our 60s and can't run anywhere! He could have made the evening great by treating us properly, but insisted there was nothing wrong with our food as he had tasted it. I hope he enjoyed it more than we did. It seems the customer couldn't have an opinion and should eat whatever is put in front of them."

I came here with my family and it was a perfect. We all felt very relaxed with extremely welcoming waitresses and waiters. The food was amazing and will definitely come here again

They did not have a record of our reservation when we arrived however they promptly found us a table. Food was great, portions are big and service was good. Will definitely go back.

After our New Year stay in the Village it was a perfect end to the visit. Great venue with attentive staff . Well priced wine list and great menu. The scallop starter was excellent. If we were ever in this area again would choose to eat at No Twenty 9 over and above elsewhere.

Everything was fabulous except for the noise. Live band playing in the bar, we were the last table all the way at the back and our ears were still hurting. Could not hear waiters or ourselves speak, had to shout to a point of throat hurting all night. Very unpleasant. However, the area needs a place with live music, especially coming so close to Christmas so I can see why this is so popular, the bar and restaurant were packed. I would go again but definitely check first if live music on.

Found this haven on a trip to Holkham for an event, restaurant was warm and friendly without the overbearing glitz of many high street competitors desperate to appeal at every level. Food is a little expensive but beautifully prepared and hot on presentation, the overall ambience was superb with a qwerkie interior that really does work well, if I 'm going to be robbed when eating out at least I should be made to 'feel nice ' whilst this is occurring, No.29 made me and my partner very welcome and of course made us both feel 'nice ' We would recommend No.29 for its warmth, physically (great double sided stove centrally installed) and the attentiveness of the staff. (lovely lady who served us)...
