"Very disappointed with our visit to this restaurant. The disappointment began with laminated menus, awful music, dirty cutlery, a dirty sticky table and a dirty drinks glass. I had pulled BBQ pulled pork croquettes to start, which was dry had very little BBQ sauce with it. I then had burger for main, which was literally the driest burger I have ever eaten in my life. Chips were deep fried kebab takeaway style chips, pretty disappointing considering the price charged. For dessert I had sorbet, which was actually inedible. Not once was I asked if everything was okay with my meal, pretty standard procedure normally. My wife’s plate was taken away once she had finished, despite me still battling through the Saharan burger. To be fair, my wife said her starter and main were nice, but the strawberry cheesecake honestly tasted like chemicals. The most disappointing thing is that we were hoping to reminisce about our wedding reception, which was held at The Little Silver Country Hotel (and was utterly faultless by the way), but instead we left with a feeling we will probably never return!"

Helpful staff and a great small menu with good choices which the chef adapted to suit my wife's dietary requirements. Would recommend.

During our 3-night Christmas getaway, we dined at the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed every meal. If I find myself in the area again, I would definitely return as a non-resident to try it out again.

We ate here twice while staying at the hotel. Both my wife's and my food were superb, deliciously tender lamb, pork, chicken and pasta dishes. Great desserts too with a good wine selection including the local Chapel Down white wine. View menu

The restaurant offers a wide variety of delicious food at a reasonable price, with good quality and excellent service. They have a great selection of wine, including local bottled ale and Chapel Down wine. It was the perfect dining experience for us.

The food served by the Oaks Restaurant is outstanding and I enjoy inviting friends and family so I can listen to their comments of how their taste buds have suddenly come alive. They always accommodate my bizarre requests such as to have two meals combined especially when I want to try something new on the menu.

We opted for the Valentine's Day menu on February 15th and were extremely pleased with the quality of the food. The service was excellent and we couldn't find any faults with our overall experience. We give it a perfect score of 5 out of 5. Check out the pictures for a glimpse of the delicious dishes. Thank you. View menu

Excellent quality food, reasonably priced, however no Steak on the menu? Deep fried Brie to start and fabulously moist poached Salmon for main. Passed on the dessert as £9.95 for cheese (3) and biscuits seems very pricey. My girlfriend chose Duck Terrine and Grilled Chicken Breast. With both main courses the veg and potatoes were cooked to perfection

Dinner in the restaurant attached to and part of the hotel, was first class. We were promptly seated and attended to at the time requested a good start. Drinks order taken as we gazed and stumbled through a very varied although small menu. There were specials as well. The drinks arrived with warm bread rolls as we were ready to order. The starters offered duck and spring roll bon bons. Excellent deep fried balls full of duck and onion, with a deep rich sauce (and the customary salad garnish). The soup was thick and rich, and also plentiful. Two lovely fillets of sea bream with crushed potatoes and plenty of seasonal vegetables was one main; the other was lamb rump with dauphinoise potato, an...

"Our excitement to see this café open allowed us an opportunity for some needed refreshment . Oh a cup of tea and a slice of cake or a little available small snack was what we needed . We were told by an employee sit down we come to you , so we did .. Another staff member standing behind the counter looked over and frumpy look called the cook who had the same frumpy look and went back to cooking , We : waited , waited , waited , waited and saw the frumpy counter woman still in the same spot , we waited and waited then left , maybe she was glued to the floor . We looked left and saw a pub named the Pheasant, oh drink and food , renewed enthusiasm and excitement we entered to staff who couldn 't do enough, so professional and warrants praise and a revisit , after a while we left and waited outside for our taxi , looking over we saw the cafe closed , ahhhhh it all came together and understanding that we was an inconvenience to the café as they was closing in half an hour after our visit , How long would it have taken to make a cup of tea for two? , us drink it , then how long would it have taken them to wash up the cups ? , they still would have twenty minutes for the woman to be unglued, our first impressions were of a cafe with many seats and a welcoming atmosphere, the woman employee sitting at the front table working was professional and welcoming the tables were clean and we kept our excitement as we waited , our excitement and enthusiasm faded, we left happily for the woman glued to the floor , we are appreciating the effort of the lady at the table who was seriously let down by the others , thank you for your efforts , apart from her professional customer service skills our Eureka moment to see the café open wasn 't to last , sorry to the staff member at the table I 'm very sure the service we had wouldn 't have been what you would have given , this review seems strong in tone but it 's our experience in here that day.. . I am not now able to show enthusiasm for another visit , I would have loved having that day and opportunity to empty my wallet a little and a little bit more on what would have been another visit , sorry no Eureka moment taken away that day."
