"We enjoyed an excellent evening meal here . We chose from the set menu - the carpaccio de boeuf ( entree) and merluz / hake ( both delicious) and from the aka carte part of the menu - soupe de poisson ( beyond excellent. !!!!! ) and duck breast ( very tasty) . We had excellent , prompt service from waitress Charlotte -who was very helpful not least because of her English translation of the menu but also her patience and humour in answering our questions. Off the main drag/sea front area of tourist restaurants we thought this restaurant offered real value for money in a pleasant , light airy setting. It was full the Friday night we eat here so we' d recommend reserving a table. We would definitely recommend this restaurant for an evening meal ."

often, you don't know where to go for a kitchen that you know little, like the Basque.

we arrived in Saint-Jean-de-Luz late one evening in August and all the restaurants were closing for the evening.

Good food, good service. Good location. Have the squid in ink if on the menu. A little pricey but not bad value.

It is a charming restaurant, the hosts are very servicing and the quality of food was correct. I would come back again

The steaming hot fish soup was remarquable for its flavours, taste and colour. The prawn salad and bread were well appreciated along with the duck pâté served with toast on arrival but the steak wasn't cooked to taste and went back to the kitchen half eaten.

Our visit started with some complications about the reservation, but at the end we get the table in the bar side, which I found later as an advantage. The starters and the wine from Navarra were OK and the main courses partly too. The clou of this place are tho local quests together with the owner. The have made such a great atmosphere without anz language bariere

We were the only non-locals in the restaurant. We both chose the full menu of the day and it was a nice selection. We chose different entrees and both liked them for their spin on the regular local food. The service was fair not great but the gentlemen were happy to answer our questions regarding the menu. the dessert of semi-cooked chocolate cake and vanilla icedream was cooked to perfection. Several wines by the glass are all affordable.

Just steps from our hotel we found this pleasant restaurant that offered very flavorful Basque dishes. We started with a plate of tapas (mushroom and cheese croquette, cod and potato croquette, Bayonne ham, and chorizo). I took the salmon, which came beautifully cooked and presented as a rose while my husband had grilled scallops served on risotto with ham and parmesan. No room was left for desserts, but there was a tempting apple tart on the menu, along with other choices. Service was a bit sketchy and the room was cool on a rainy day, but there was no music and tables were nicely spaced so one could talk quietly.
