"I had the pleasure of visiting La Terraza Tapas Bar in Upton with my kids, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The ambiance was incredibly cozy and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a family outing. The friendly staff added to the welcoming atmosphere, making us feel right at home. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the tapas selection. The steak with chimichurri sauce was a burst of flavors that left us craving for more, and the Tempura prawns were simply delectable. It's clear that the chefs here take pride in their creations, as every dish we tried was a delightful journey for the taste buds. As a first-time visitor, I was thoroughly impressed by the overall experience, and I can confidently say it won't be our last visit. While the prices leaned slightly towards the expensive side, the quality of the food and the cozy ambiance more than made up for it. La Terraza Tapas Bar strikes the perfect balance between a gourmet dining experience and a comfortable family outing. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the restaurant, which is always an important factor for me when choosing a place to dine. "that was a bad experience from beginning to end. first there was no beer, and then none of the weeps were available on the wine list except house wine. the appetizers were in order, but we had a big problem with the main meals. two of us were without the kartoffels that were expected when the vigil of my wife ran blood and another bowl was mainly fat. Although we were not charged for both, it certainly spoiled an expensive evening. no experience I would recommend."

"Set menu £20 with options to choose. Was nervous it was empty to start with (we ate about 8pm), but very pleasantly surprised the food was lovely! I spoke with who I assume was the owner and asked why so quiet, apparently most of his custom comes from the Chinese students at the uni. Gem found!"

"I wondered why this restaurant described itself on the board outside as ‘fusion’, why there were so many Korean dishes on the menu and why the serving staff have heard of Asahi beer but haven’t heard of The Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper that is at least 50 years old. The answer is that the Akasaka website isn’t being completely honest when it describes their Northampton branch as a Japanese restaurant. They aren’t really Japanese, although some of their menu items are clearly Japanese. Don’t let that put you off, however, as they are serving excellent food and we enjoyed our meal there very much. It cost us about £70 (inc. 10% tip) for our meal for two people including a 175ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc for my lovely wife and two 330ml bottles of Asahi Dry for me. The sushi was excellent, the edamame beans were great but we didn’t feel that the Dolsot Bibimbap (a Korean dish with loads of rice, some shredded vegetables, prawns and a fried egg on top) offered very good value for money at just under sixteen pounds. We would recommend Akasaka in Northampton and would certainly go there again, but if we want a genuinely Japanese meal, prepared and served by Japanese staff, then we will be sticking to Ginza Restaurant on Wellingborough Road in Northampton. Don’t like the way that the male members of staff at Sakura on Bridge Street speak to their female colleagues, very disrespectful, so we avoid that Japanese restaurant nowadays. Great to have a choice of three Japanese restaurants in Northampton post-pandemic, and our favourite of the three is Ginza."

"amazing! love back to this place, eating is wonderful I can not recommend it enough. the salt and chili sum is so light and crispy the banh xeo pancake is delicious, but the real winner for me was the spicy bark soup. go for the rare rindspeicy nudelsuppe called bun bo hue. and also the cocksuckers should die. I have inherited and ordered mango. I wish I had ordered two that they were this mumie. in northants there is nowhere else. Thank you and we will see you soon!"
