"What a disasterous visit. We visited minutes before noon for lunch. I asked for a copy of the lunch menu and it was as if I was asking for the holy grail. Reluctantly, I got a single copy of the menu for us to share. The menu was same old stuff burgers, fish and chips etc. We ordered a bottle of wine and the two simplest things on the menu. Fish and Chips and Sausage and Mash. The fish was delivered burnt and looked like it was cooked in old oil and the onion gravy was like water. The fish could have swam in it if it was still alive! We sent both items back to the kitchen and they were replaced but the food was only marginally better second time around. Sometimes you just give up! Martina, a lovely member of staff assisted as much as possible but this experience was beyond redemption. So a total bill of nearly £70 to be left with a horrible aftertaste from the food wasn't really what we had expected. My tip to the Paternoster would be to take off the misleading pics off their site of beaitifully prepared food and show the slop that is served up. At least be honest!"

Really nice Sunday lunch here today. Excellent food: the roast beef was perfect. Great service likewise. Ali was helpful and charming.

Went for a drink and some snacks after a team meeting for 15-20 people and the staff were amazing plus the food was beautiful. Sharing platters were excellent and good value.

We had a really nice time here. The guys who served us could not have been more helpful. Very good choice of drinks and the food was nice. I would definitely return here next time I’m in London.

Visited this pub mid December, whilst having to deal with Christmas rush, Kelsey provided incredible service to me making sure I had everything I needed and had a great chat with her! Brilliant! View menu

My colleague and I popped in here for a drink last week before going for food elsewhere and were pleasantly surprised with the price of a pint which we didn’t think was bad at all for London. Although I can’t comment on the food I would imagine it’s nice to eat here as the restaurant had a very cosy feel.

We stumbled upon this fantastic hidden gem with a stunning view of St Paul's Cathedral. We had a delightful few hours here, first outside enjoying the sunshine and then inside trying out a sharing platter. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff were very friendly and happy, and the drinks were perfect. The food was delicious. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

I made a reservation for brunch, but ended up sitting outside in the sun instead. The restaurant is beautifully maintained, with a stunning view of St. Paul. The coffee was excellent, far superior to the chain coffee shops in the area, and they had a impressive selection of drinks (we only had coffee for our business meeting, but I can't wait to go back for the wines!). The food was delicious as well, making me question why I had never visited in all my years working nearby. The service was quick and friendly, and I will definitely be returning for more business meetings and after-work drinks! View menu

I've been regularly attending this pub since late 2022 and I have to say the service from Ali and other members of the team has been great. It's been a lovely place to visit on a Sunday and it offers a unique experience, sometimes quite, sometimes a band, artist collective, or big game on the screens! You never know what's going on but it will always be interesting! The food is plentiful, reasonably priced for central london and the wine selection solid. It also has outdoor seating and ample space inside for a full on gathering of friends. I enjoy my visits immensely and it's about a block away from St Paul's Cathedral with the St Paul's station just around the corner. Great place to spend a...

I have walked past The Paternoster many times, but always assumed it was just another large pub restaurant with impersonal service. I was pleasantly surprised when I stopped in for lunch and drinks. The staff greeted us warmly, there were plenty of well-spaced seats, and the atmosphere was not too busy. We enjoyed sitting by the window and watching passersby. The seats were comfortable and the restaurant was impeccably clean, including the restrooms. The food was served quickly and the wine was enjoyable. While not inexpensive, the prices were reasonable given the restaurant's location near St Paul's. A special thank you to Jazmyne, who was friendly and enhanced our experience. We will defin...

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
