"I had been hearing about the Nordic Bakery for some time now, but for some reason, I never found the courage to go in and try out the delights it has to offer. I may not be one to follow trends, but I finally decided to give it a try. The Nordic Bakery is a wonderful place to relax, enjoy a cup of coffee, savor a sandwich or a cinnamon bun, and read a few chapters of a book. I decided to try the pickled herring and egg sandwich, which was an interesting combination that worked surprisingly well - the tenderness of the herring paired with a tangy dressing, and I loved the addition of boiled eggs in my sandwich, reminding me of my school days. The latte came in a generously sized cup and was excellent. While the coffee was just okay, the delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and overall ambiance of the place made up for it. If Fernandez and Wells can do it, then so can the Nordic Bakery. Another great sandwich option in the area is Paul Rothe and Son."

I would recommend visiting this restaurant in London for an easy and delicious breakfast or lunch. It has a charming square with a history spanning over 100 years. View menu

When people use the phrase “old-fashioned” in a good way is the way I want to use it to describe this wonderful little shop in Marylebone. Traditional sandwich flavours from back in the the day like a Salt-Beef Mayo (with gherkins and pickle) to die for.

This coffee, it's got some of it. In it you can both have tea accompanied by a delicious sandwich, like buying some rich jams, those that look like Grandma. The place is total, it is old, but well preserved, it has that solera that gives the coffees charm. The service at the same time as the decoration, is friendly to the old usanza and to finish, have some biscuits in giant boxes (pallets type) that are the most painted perdition! And in case all that was little, it is located on the same street as the amazing button store The Button Queen.... Certainly essential!!

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
