"This is the 3rd time I have visited Perkins Petit Bistro and it doesn't seem to disappoint. We had a weekend away with friends and booked in straight away. On arrival we were greeted by Rowan the waiter and we ordered espresso martinis all round which were spot on. Once seated we were given a complimentary amuse bouche of pea soup which was beautiful. Our starters consisted of scallops with black pudding and bacon crisp (sensational best I've ever had! , baked camembert sharer (perfectly cooked the bread was delicious , and roasted beetroot and ricotta (beautiful dish . Our main courses were a mix of steak seasoned cooked perfectly , halibut which was probably the nicest fish I've ever tasted and I had the duck l'orange which melted in your mouth, was perfectly pink the way duck should be with a crisp skin. We were given Complimentary chocolates handmade by the chef and enjoyed several bottles of the Malbec wine which was very smooth and delicate and finished which untold amounts of espresso martinis. The chef came out after service to introduce himself and check that we were happy with the food which is a lovely touch. Thank you to all the staff at PPB for making our evening special for our friends birthday and can't wait to visit again and see the delights on the next new menu."

Fantastic small café with friendly staff who may apologize for the lack of vegan options, but they still offer a tasty jacket potato with beans as well as some good vegetarian choices.

We had a weekend away in Louth and booked this restaurant for Saturday night as we wanted to dress up for a fine dining experience. We were not disappointed we both chose the vegetarian option and the food was all heavenly. The waiter was very attentive but not intrusive and you could see they took pleasure in making and serving the dishes, including little tasters between courses. It was quieter than we expected considering its central location and good ambience but apparently it's only been open for less than a year. They do 10 course taster menus once a month which sound amazing but that didn't coincide with our visit. We would definitely return if we were in the area again. An absolute g...

on a Friday evening a family celebration for 9 was organized. gluten free menu was sent to us in advance well and had a amazing selection of dressing for choice spoiled! just as well as the standard menu in which did some diners of this preferred than with lighter options. the food was impressive, but I must recommend alis chocolate brewery with baileys especially next time if I have this for all three courses! Kitchen was happy to be flexible to meet the needs of the individual diners (in the ground! and the young workers were all very professional, helpful and thoroughly pleasing without being intrusive. we would definitely eat the trip here again and recommend it very much. we also had (l...

"I've been in Horncastle on business twice once on a Monday, once on a Tuesday and both times found the town mostly closed for business in the evenings. This time, just as I was on the point of deciding people in Lincolnshire must have a tradition of fasting on a Tuesday evening, I came across The Bull. This attractive old coaching hotel looked inviting, and the staff offered me a friendly welcome. The warmly lit, high ceilinged interior of this Georgian inn was full of diners (Yes on a Tuesday! Take note, other restauranteurs of Horncastle) and the ambiance was convivial. The selection of beers behind the bar was good and the two pints I drank were tasty and well kept. I was presented with two bar menus, a separate burger menu and shown a fish menu and a steak menu on the wall. (I understand tapas is also available at weekends). Quite a choice! The bar menus largely consisted of what you might call traditional pub grub of the best kind. Within that massive choice, there must have been at least half a dozen dishes I was really tempted by but, eventually, I plumped for the cauliflower soup followed by the pork belly, mash, peas and apple gravy. Both courses were outstanding and extremely generous in size, especially the pork belly. My only disappointment was that I hadn't room in my distended belly to squeeze in a spotted dick for pudding! My bill, for such a large and excellent meal, was very modest. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at The Bull and would definitely eat and/or drink there again."
