I started with the pigeon; the menu mentioned breast and wing, so I expected one of each, but I received four wings that were tough and had so little meat that they wouldn’t have satisfied a pigeon, especially for £14. "Honestly, I don’t understand the need for such loud music. It is not a club, it is not a concert; you come to the rooftop to enjoy the view with your mates, have a good talk, and generally relax. But the loud music makes it all impossible; all you hear is auto-tuned voices screaming in your brain. When I just entered that place, I wanted to leave immediately. The tables also look like they haven’t been renewed for decades."

"We enjoyed a late lunch at Mandarin Bar Bisto on the day when we had 8 PM tickets for La Scala (it's difficult in Milan to find an early pre opera dinner reservation, so this solution worked beautifully). We both had the octopus first course and a risotto (my dining partner had squid ink and I had milanese). All of the food was perfect. Nice wine selection. But the standout part of the experience was the exceptional service (thank you, Francesco) the pacing of the meal and the attention to detail was faultless. Highly recommended."

"that is a very funny thing to do when in london. prepared by the architecture and design, through the number and quality of the numerous boutiques, the food dishes that sell all of quality chocolate to dinner....and the mass. try to visit a weekday morning to have the best experience. they also try to avoid the perfumery section if they have asthma or do not want to overload competing and contradictory and overpowering. this experience let me cough about 15 minutes later and I have good lungs. the place needs a lot of strong positive ventilation, or about 20 less sales people spray scents in the air. "The experience was marred from the start by the service. We were left standing at the wait here to be seated position. At least four members of staff stared straight at us and ignored us. No one came over to advise that a hostess would be along shortly. When a hostess did arrive, she told us we would have the table for one and half hours, which directly contradicts the booking terms on Open Table, which state two hours for a party of four.On being seated, when we asked what the composition was of the cocktail of the month Pornstar Spritz, we were told: is Champagne and some juice. Ignoring that the Champagne reference is incorrect, why can't waiters simply say that they don't know and fetch someone who does?After we replaced that waiter, the service improved, although a request to have roast beef cut from the rarer part of the joint was met with a look of complete confusion. Eventually, having been given a choice of medium or well done, I went with something else. The food was for the most part good, although my baked eggs were added to the dish too early and were consequently hard and the roast beef ordered by another member of the party was so well done that a cobbler would have rejected it. Ambience is good, in that the space is reasonably tasteful, but it is a cavernous hotel lobby space, so if you're looking for something intimate, look elsewhere. Prices are fine.The Riedel glassware is wasted this is never going to feel like a tasteful outing in the West End.The house Champagne is Perrier Jouet, which is better than most"

"Good overall though not sure the score will reflect. Food was good, well seasoned and portioned service was good but got slower as the meal day worn on (we were perhaps the last of the lunch time eaters) two adult main meals, two kids meals, 3 soft drinks and 1 large glass of wine, 2 deserts and 2 coffees. I’d expect to pay around 60 maybe 70. Bill including service came to nearer 90 needless to say that’s quite a lot for a small family outing at least more than I’d anticipated. Ah well for around the 50/60 mark they get a repeat customer, a little too expensive for what it was, nice but pricey."

"Booked business lunch through open table, expecting a decent service. Is there any? NO. First I have been asked to provide a code, what code? I am having normal lunch on normal menu, I never need a code! Apparently a waitress thought I booked through group on! I was embarrassed in front of my clients. It is not a cheap skate! Seated right underneath a noisy TV in a corner, and there isn't many guests around. what do I supposed to do with my discussion? And it took half an hour for me To have my orange juice! Did you go to supermarket and my juices? There is barely any service and why do I need to pay service charge? When I raised my hand for anyone to notice, for few minutes nobody cared! I don't believe this is what's happening, and for this experience and the just normal average food they are serving, I hope my fellow customers just waved byebye to this place. Birmingham have so much to offer and 1565 is a place you won't need to remember."

"I went for a business lunch, and although I wouldn't say it was a bad experience, I would be hard pressed to say it was an excellent one the portion sizes were a little hit and miss (very large side orders, but the starters felt a little small), and the service was not top notch. Being an Italian restaurant, I would have expected the waitress to know what a Negroni was, but that aside, things like the water not being left on the table and them forgetting to bring sides with the main course and needing to be reminded let the service down. It was not overly busy on the day we went, so there is room for improvement. There was nothing wrong with the food when it did arrive. Still, we didn't order anything out of the ordinary and having been to a few Italian restaurants recently, Bella Cosa, unfortunately, didn't figure high up on the places visited, which is a shame. Maybe it was an off day but overall as I say, although not a bad experience I couldn't say it was a great one."

"This is a nice Italian restaurant, on two levels, with Pizza style restaurant downstairs and fine dining upstairs. The menu prices are reasonable, although wines are a little expensive. The Octopus and the Rabbit Ragu were the standout dishes, although the purple potato puree was not a nice accompaniment to the Octopus main course and the warm Octopus salad starter was a better combination. Pasts was al dente, as I like it, but possible too firm for some taste. Service was good, although the maitre'd explained he was teaching someone, so we showed her some leniency. Main downside was a lack of diners, which was surprising for a Saturday night, so the ambience was rather muted. It is out the way for Canary Wharf, but was close to our hotel."

"I booked this table for our first Valentine's date meal. We went into the hotel which looks really nice I was like wow not what I expected nice decore and smartly dressed staff. We then checked in at 1565 at 8.15pm we was taken to our table where we sat for 35minuites before the waiter came and asked if we would like a drink so we ordered. After we relieved the drinks we ordered our food we had 3 starters a main which was to share but was the size of a child's meal for one and we then had a dessert which should of been to share that came out tiny we ate 1st starter then we ate the 3rd then our main came I then asked the waiter in a polite manner why we did not receive our 2nd starter he said so sorry I didn't no so went to find out. He came back 20mins after with our 2nd starter then we had to wait another 25mins for our dessert we where starving after all of this. We was told that it is £40pp with a glass of rose, but as me and my partner do not drink alcohol i called up in the afternoon to swap it for soft drink which I was told that's fine u won't pay for your drink brilliant. Cut a long story short the bill came to £110.37p it's a good job my partner had his card with him as I only took £80 with me this is what we was charged. £40 valentine 5 course meal including drink £40 valentine 5 course meal including drink £6.00 ×2 small cokes £8.60 Service charge £15.77 VAT How can they tell you £80 then though all these bills on. I called up the next day as my partner did not want me to make a scene I was on the phone from 8.30am till 3pm on and off to try and sort the problem then to have to message my partners account number, sort code, 16 digit card number, security code and expiry day. Received no email from manager it was all done by text from his personal phone. Very unhappy customer and very unprofessional staff. I would never ever recommended this restaurant to anybody and I will be putting my point across to everybody."

"The food was incredible and the service was also excellent. The restaurant itself is very basic and the layout of the tables is a little tight leaving not much room for movement. The noise level was high due to being a little cramped and the high proportion of families and children dining but this is the kind of place that is ideal for children and families. All in all, beautiful venue overlooking the lakes with great staff and service and fantastic food."

"I first visited the Old Chain Pier 58 years ago in the hay day of Betty the bamboo spectacled owner). Despite many changes in ownership, the pub has maintained its ambience and charm. My 20 year old granddaughter enjoyed the experience as much as I. Not for nothing is it the favourite luncheon place of my old ex rugby playing contemporaries. Top tip is the Cullen Skink, but followed closely by mussels and fish and chips."

"The first course arrived promptly, but it was a significant disappointment. We ordered half a duck and pancakes, expecting a reasonable portion, but what we received was the tiniest serving imaginable. It bore no resemblance to the half duck we usually enjoy at other restaurants. What we had was dry, bland, and not worth the £30 price tag. To make matters worse, our main courses were served before they had cleared away the plates from our first course, leaving us with no space on the table for the entrees. We had to literally request that they clean the table so we could fit the main dishes. The restaurant was quite empty, and it felt like they wanted us to leave as quickly as possible so they could close up. When we voiced our concerns about the food and service, the staff laughed at us, which was incredibly unprofessional. It's no wonder the restaurant was so empty. Located in the Dorsett Hotel in a busy area of London, none of the six of us plan to return. Although we had considered staying at the hotel on our next trip due to its affordability, this experience has ensured that we will not be returning, as it poorly reflects on the hotel’s overall reputation."

"I sat outside in the courtyard. I was served pretty quickly and my food and drink arrived without much of a wait. I had the quinoa superfood salad withy chicken breast. The food was tasty and nicely presented, the only issue I had was the salad was nearly all leaves with a sprinkle of quinoa. Whilst I’m used to dining in London and therefore I’m aware of the prices, I did think that in excess of £40 for a G&T and some chicken and salad leaves, was a bit expensive. Also once I’d had my food the service dropped off and it took me a while waiting for the bill. Not sure if I would eat here again due to the price. I don’t mind paying London prices as long as I feel I’m getting value for money."

"The food was nice but portions were small and prices were high very high for the size of the portions we got. And several items on the menu weren't available which was a shame. There are a lot of different deals for different days which I found confusing. There didn't seem to be any deals on the day we went we were just given a menu with no mention of any deals. No ambience but that's probably because we were the only ones in there but we were eating between lunch and dinner time so that was probably why. I wouldn't go again unless we got a good deal too pricey for too little food."

"Took going to the front desk twice to get the tv fixed in the room. Initially they sent in housekeeping to try to fix it, then a gentleman around the front desk came in and reset the channels. Waited roughly 4-5 hours. Beds are a little hard, but I am used to memory foam, so may be good for people used to a conventional mattress. Shower is amazingly hot and perfect with a shower head that actually has pressure. Breakfast is great, lots of choices, and very good orange juice. Overall, perfect location for us and easy to get to from London via coach. Rooms: Little small, but efficient for needs. Walkability: Easy to get to from coach, restaurant/pub nearby, and convenient mart in walking distance. Food drinks: Room service available, breakfast with juices and coffee."
