Probably the most Stylish and Historic interior of all the branches. Thomas Hungarian waiter looks after You. Standard Pizza Express fare...... But tasty and good value for money. Greatly enjoyed eating here.

Visited with friends. Can never go wrong with pizza express. Really friendly service, excellent pizzas and good value for money. There is another pizza express in York near the center, but it is very small. Would recommend here as there are plenty of tables.

we came on a very busy Saturday and despite fully booked the manager did his best to sit all. after ten minutes waiting time we got a table and had a nice meal. the staff are a credit for this restaurant, the. manager and our waiter were so polite and friendly. View menu

My experience at this restaurant branch was disappointing. I had informed the manager that I was gluten-free upon arrival and reiterated this to the waiter when we were seated. However, the waiter still brought me a plate of regular dough balls. After double-checking with him, he reassured me that they were gluten-free. When my wife's dough balls arrived a few minutes later, he claimed they were gluten-free as well, even though I had already eaten two regular ones. He showed little remorse for the mistake. Be cautious when dining at this establishment.

Ok, I'll say this first. Yes, it's just a Pizza Express, but just look at it!What everybody comes here for is the venue. The restaurant is in a superb listed building which in its previous incarnation served as an exclusive Gentlemen's club. Large portraits of the aforementioned gentlemen look down upon you as you eat. There are high ceilings, oak panelled walls and tiled floors even the bathrooms are ostentatiously decorated.A few tables are available outside on the terrace, looking out over the River Ouse and the Lendal Bridge. Be prepared to wait for these on a sunny day!

my own and my partner visited york over valentinstag and were initially a bit annoying with us to not book a restaurant in advance for valentine night. However, this pizza express was a short walk from our hotel and we knew we didn't go wrong. with it! I wish I knew what our server was called because they were absolutely brilliant. so polite, attentive and attentive. that was brilliant and the manager who welcomed us and allowed me to choose the table I would rather have made. I love Pizza Express and if we visit york again, we would come back to this special restaurant because the service was excellent. View menu

I love Pizza Expresses for their use of old buildings, and the York branch is no exception, situated in a lovely atmospheric old banking hall type building with huge lofty ceilings, subdued lighting, contemporary finishing and artwork etc. Myself and two friends had dinner there on a very busy evening in the summer holidays, but despite the large number of customers the service was excellent and prompt. The food also arrived extremely quickly and was delicious, if not quite as hot as I'd expect by the time I'd finished my pizza it was stone cold. the location is excellent, the building is amazing and very impressive. eating was nice enough. Unfortunately, the problems remained in the evening but only in the evening. we had to wait 25 minutes, even though we booked for which they apologized. no problem, it happens. when busy. pizza had ingredients not available that taste it nowhere near so beautiful. our waiter was great until we had our main thing, then it all took old. water never arrived that we ordered at the beginning. koks never arrived. the person who had made the baileys laugh had never done one before. he asked about the bill and waited 30 minutes. men loo had 1 cubic. for a restaurant with over 100 people. overall it could...

I recommended that a group of us have come to york for a 40th day dinner in our night. before it was always my favorite choice for such a meeting, but unfortunately we had a really bad experience this time. Despite the pre-booking of an early 5:45... table (there were 13 of us including the young children) we had to wait over the half of our in the crowded foyer area.
