"with decoration that is part nautical, partly retro diner, seadrift feels fresh, warm and welcoming. the staff was incredibly helpful and hospitable, very suitable for the venue. obviously a popular place for local and tourist, there was a steady stream of customers during our visit, but then, with the caffe currently as number ones on tripadvisor for porthleven, I expected to be eating well. what I didn't expect was one of the worst cases of envy I had in some time."

"Separate vegan menu with a good selection of options, I struggled to choose! Ended up with the Korean style cauliflower and Tom Kha Noodle soup, which were both stunning. Great atmosphere in the place, was light and airy, with a lovely view over the harbour. Staff were lovely, too. Would recommend to anyone visiting Porthleven!"

"We were staying in Porthleven, so booked Kota in advance, as we were aware of this interesting restaurant from previous holidays in Porthleven. We had the six-course dinner menu with the wine pairing, for which my food allergy was well catered for as most dishes were the same as my partner’s. The initial three “snacks” were a delight, as the flavours and textures made them delicious. The second course of BBQ leeks and mussels were an amazing combination of flavour and texture. The third course of beet curds, molasses, and chia seeds was a delightful combination, and I say this as someone who doesn’t really like beetroot. It made the beetroot the sweetest I have ever tasted without overpowering its flavour. The fourth course of brown crab sauce with the seabass was delicious. The fifth course of pork belly with accompaniments was superb. For dessert we had “Milk and Honey”, a white chocolate mousse, Porthleven honey, caramelised milk powder, and soda bread ice cream, which was a wonderful blend of flavours and textures. The wine pairings were very well matched to the dishes. I also appreciated the nicely laundered large linen napkins that we had. The restaurant had a nice ambience, with interesting subtle music which we enjoyed. Our waitresses were very friendly and informative, carefully explaining the dishes and the wines to us upon arrival. The service was excellent. We had a very enjoyable experience, and after this first visit will go back again when next in Porthleven."

"The Sunday roast was fantastic, with generous portions and delicious food. For vegetarians, there was a nut roast available. They also cater to dietary restrictions, offering gluten-free options. The price per person ranges from £20 to £30. I would rate the food 4 out of 5, the service 5 out of 5, and the atmosphere 3 out of 5. I highly recommend the Sunday roast!"

"We are a family of four with two teenagers, and we dined at 8 PM. The pub was lively, and the service was cheerful and efficient. We enjoyed tasting local ales. We started with excellent salt and pepper squid, followed by burgers and fish and chips for our main courses. For dessert, we had an amazing “monkey” dessert featuring chocolate brownies that the kids loved. They were captivated by the step terraces leading down to the harbor as the local boats came and went, creating a picturesque sunset. It was a fantastic way to spend the evening. Thank you!"
