"We made a same-day reservation with no issues and had a choice of tables when we arrived. The staff was friendly and polite, and they were able to accommodate our children by adding baked beans to the fish finger wrap. The portions were large and we couldn't even fit in dessert! The steak burger was tasty, but a bit pricey considering it didn't include bacon and cheese. There was a bit of a wait for our food and the bill took a while to arrive, so we ended up going to the bar to pay. It was a busy lunch service, so we won't hold it against them. Overall, it was a pleasant family meal. Well done."

We had a fabulous pizza for the second time. This is a real treat if you want the real taste of Italy.

The staff was delightful, the ambiance was excellent, and the burgers were one of the best I have ever tasted! The beer selection was also impressive. Overall, a fantastic experience, despite the limitations of TripAdvisor's character count. View menu

I have just seen a review of tonight and could not agree that eating leigh jo was excellent in every sight! we were very happy to be squeezed in the last minute, but this made no difference to the excellent one. service and tasty eating merci beaucoup!

Pub is tired, tatty and appears unkempt. Further put off by customers vaping at the bar. The bar staff were either absent or struggling to work the till. That said the ale was well kept if a little over priced. Not minded to return, despite...the venue being quite local.

chef jo (trained in France) and lee did a wonderful job to prepare our gourmet French dinner last Saturday. lobster bisque with quails eggs, snuggle in a creamy wine sauce, sorbet, with a large sort of sweet and competitive fours for the desert. all accompanied by...appropriate crying. Congratulations! View menu

Chef rustled up a free bowl of chips because they were too busy to offer us food when we turned up on spec then offered us food after all when things had calmed down a bit. Food arrived delicious, fresh and beautifully cooked....Even the dog was provided with her own meal which she wolfed down. But perhaps my favourite thing was the atmosphere warm, friendly and welcoming. We’re staying locally for more days and are already wondering how many meals we can fit in at this truly special pub!

We visited the Queens Head for the first time to celebrate my stepfather's birthday. The staff were incredibly helpful, the beer was delicious, and the food was top-notch. The cozy atmosphere with a warm log fire made it a welcoming spot for both children and dogs. The menu was extensive and creative, and we all enjoyed our meals which were well-presented on warm plates with generous portions. The roasts were served with plenty of vegetables, and we were all impressed with the reasonable prices. After multiple visits to The Oakesmere, the Queens Head has now become our new favorite spot!

"I love pubs! How many times do you hear that? I only properly discovered them 18 years ago because in France, although we have our cafes, they are nothing like pubs. I fairly quickly categorised them because when you think about it, they are all different. The best description for me for this one is a town pub full of character. I discovered it thanks to a friend and started going to hold a French Conservation group. I have only had drinks so far and believe me if you are after reasonable prices you have to go to the Gladstone. I have recently paid £2 in another place for a soda and lime. Here they charge you £0.30. And before you ask, no, it's not because it's served in a shot glass. When you enter the premises you will notice first the space. It has got room but you also can decide to sit in a smaller area. There is a fire place which is really nice especially at this time if the year. I went last Saturday to meet with a friend and we decided to have something to eat. If you want a night out but your are on restricted budget this is the place where to go. Ok the menu doesn't give you a massive choice as some do but in fact think about it, it won't take you too long to make your decision. The choice is good and the prices quite low. If you are vegetarian they certainly have thought about you. I am not but to be fair I've always wondered why the choices seem to be so restricted for those who are when eating out? I ended with the chilly beef and cheese. I like the fact you can choose to have it with rice or bread. The serving is good and I really enjoyed it. It was very tasty. The staffs work hard, are very pleasant and easy to interact with which is exactly what you want in a pub. It's a place with great atmosphere. And if you enjoy watching tv in a pub this is certainly the place where to go. It was a very reasonable and enjoyable night out. I'll be back!"
