"We had a kind of strange experience with Qu'est ce u'on Mange- I had made an online reservation for a Monday evening, but when we showed up, the restaurant was closed. It appeared to always be closed on Mondays (as are many restaurants in Strasbourg), yet the website had allowed me to make a reservation through TripAdvisor. Only after I got back to my hotel and had wifi did I see that they had sent an email a few hours prior to my reservation to let me know that it had been canceled. So, we went back to Qu'est ce qu'on Mange the next day. Our server didn't speak English, nor did they have an English menu, but we got by with the assistance of Google Translate and my terrible French. My husband had some sort of fish, and I had the prawns and noodles. Both were excellent! We also had the chocolate lava cake, which was wonderful. If you want to get away from the tourist restaurants as well as the heavy Alsatian cuisine, then this is your place! Just make sure you map it beforehand, since it's a little hidden away in a tiny street near the Cathedral."

Great pan au chocolat (croissant with chocolate), with a new slight spin off the original recipe with hardened sugar on top.

Every time I'm in Strasbourg, I almost always pay a visit to Christian, one of the most amazing patisseries I've ever had the pleasure of feasting on torte

A great place to relax and people watch. Before beginning our day around Strasbourg, we sat at a table outside and had ourselves some pain au chocolat, hot

We were 4 outside and enjoyed a very pleasant dinner. King prawns with wok noodles were delicious and served with a superb rose wine recommended by the house. View menu

We arrived after being turned away from three other places for no reservation, walked in, and were greeted like family. The waitress and staff were superb, the food was perfect, and we were very satisfied indeed. Worth the time.

A recommendation from the hotel concierge saw us arrive at this small restaurant. First impressions were that it was going to be not great- however, once we sat down and ordered we thoroughly enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service! A lovely family restaurant where everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves! We had a wonderful evening and chatted with some lovely families! View menu

Located in a small street with lots of restaurants and café, in summer you can sit outside in a front terrace, this restaurant has a very small menu card but the recipes are prepared with a great quality, top taste and flavor. Had a 3 course menu with a bottle of local pinot gris, aperitif and café for 65.- euros per p,. nice entrée, very tasty main course and great dessert. Service was done by the co-owner, simple but gentle all done with a certain love of work well done.

I was delighted to find this restaurant on a quiet and charming street, several blocks from the Cathedral. Sitting on the patio, I took the 3 course set lunch for 18€ (one can get the main course for just 10€). The first course was a leek quiche with a mixed green salad - delicious ... a wonderful balance of flavors and textures. The second course, pork cutlets, was good but paled a bit in comparison to the first one. The third course was a rustic creme caramel ... very good! The meal was rounded off with a local wine and decaf coffee.
