A number of us were in Berlin for two weeks on business, and found ourselves at the Berlinchen several times. The food was great (don't miss the Schweinhaxe), the beer was great, and our multi-lingual waiter was friendly and enthusiastic. Highly recommended.

Just steps from my hotel and fancying something traditional I stopped in here. Got busy very quickly, and staff were friendly and helpful. They use a iPad to show and explain dishes in English. I had a wild boar goulash with red cabbage and Spätzle,...was very good. They do take credit cards, if you ask.

I was here for dinner, and I accepted the personal suggestion to choose a plate outside the official menu: I had a brot with kartoffels and mushrooms. the food was good, but then the price was much higher than anything on the list, and even worse they only said at the end that they only accept cash, no credit card (although they brought the bill in an american Express folder. I'm never going to dinate here again.

dinner here now in our stay here in berlin im oktober. we went here to have a taste of German food, and despised to go for the days, the special. we ate a dish with sour wort with kartoffels and specksauce, and a dish...with pork with sour wort and kartoffels with sauce. in drinks, we tried a local robarian. the dinner and the bear was all good, and we were very satisfied with the service. they only took cash, so make sure they have money in the bag when they go here.

The MOST TERRIBLE !!! experience I have had in Europe. We did not get any notice or information by the waiter in advance that it is Cash-only (although there is a sign on the main door but we sit outside and never had an opportunity...to see that) and we went out for dinner without any bank notes or physical card. When making the payment, the waiter insisted on cash in a very very especially RUDE way without letting me say a word, and said F*CK U to me. I do not think it is the right manner a professional Berlin restaurant should offer. So terrible. The worst impression of Berlin city.
