An EXCEPTIONAL welcome! Kindness, smile, humor. Erika, the new owner, is attentive to our satisfaction, the last minute cooking is delicious, the dishes are abundant. A happy surprise! After having lunch there, we came back in the evening View menu

We were made very welcome and our host was very friendly and pleasant. It’s the best tarte flambée I’ve eaten in Alsace! With little care for us and the children, the service was impeccable and the dishes delicious. I recommend this restaurant! Fabienne

View menu

After going to a restaurant with a storefront around the Place de Neuf-brisach where they didn't even take the time after 5 minutes to welcome us, or even to say hello, we went at the ramparts restaurant: •Warm and smiling welcome •unpretentious but good dishes, cooked precisely and well served •good value for money What more? (For constructive criticism, but in no way detracts from my satisfaction, a little renewal of paint and decor would be a real plus)

Besoin d'accord salle/cuisine

"Breisach am Rhein is one of the charming destinations for a short trip or a day trip – with a culinary background. Of course, the Münsterberg is one of the absolute hotspots of the place. Just a few steps below the Münster and the local Best Western Hotel, wonderfully built in the hills, with a unique view of the Rhine and the Vosges, lies the etoile that does not “just” a café, as perhaps the name would suggest. It is a tasteful restaurant, an atmospheric tapas bar, an illustrious gallery, a great excursion destination and a wonderful viewpoint – highly recommended in summer and winter. We were lucky to meet at an unexpected 20 degrees on Easter Saturday and find a coveted place on the sun terrace in the afternoon! Metallic works of art, planted stone troughs, individually oriented tables and comfortable basket seat furniture dominate on the slim area. Of course you can enjoy the magnificent view over France from the inside, which has a fully windowed south side. A tip for those who prefer to avoid the sun: also on the Münster side, quite shady and cool, there are some outdoor seating, surrounded by huge lemon trees planted in lush bowls. Here you feel irresistible as on holiday – as in the Balearic Islands or the Canary Islands. In general, the place itself has something Hispanioles. And the guests are multicultural: many French are close to the neighbouring country, but also Spanish, Asia and Swiss. Very fast, the friendly service was in place (the by the way most guests immediately duzte! and handed over the card. In addition to regional wines from the Kaiserstuhl, various coffee specialities and fresh cakes and cakes, there are a variety of tapas, fresh salads and snacks (e.g. olives, pickled mushrooms, vegetables, small snacks). Our desire for a large coffee was immediately met with a “double” (4.50 euros), which was then a huge part, so inviting that you could hardly handle the heavy cup. The coffee used was very strong and very sour, unfortunately almost a bit bitter. Sugar was not served and we had to ask for additional milk. For this, the light Secco Rose (0.1 liter for 2.80 euros) was a pleasant surprise: very fruity and very refreshing, also from the region. When Törtchen was desired at the neighboring table, the service wore a whole tray with maybe 8 different small cakes to choose from. I liked above all the yogurts with fresh fruits on the top, but also the **** and cherry owls with many best revelations during topping. During our entire stay the service showed constant presence, repeatedly asked for new wishes, but without annoying with it. They felt more like very appreciated guests who want to pamper. The requested invoice came quickly and was transparent. When we were gone, more guests waited to release a table. I don't know if you can book seats here (if yes: absolutely recommended! To reach a word: The footpath to the Etoile is a little difficult and requires a safe ride, such as over steep stairs and unobserved cobblestones. A real challenge for people with disabilities. Although you can also drive the road to Münsterberg by car, it is relatively narrow and you always have to pay attention to the pedestrians. On the slopes I only saw a handful of parking spaces, which were of course constantly occupied. Whether the PNV is up here would still be to settle... Also ambitious is the visit of the toilets in the Etoil: they are really tiny, very narrow and hardly suitable for people with a little more body filling. You really feel very close to the stars in this gastronomic jewel..."
