"We started our date night at Ristorante Filippo last night and had a great experience. We chose to sit on the terrace and enjoy the beautiful evening outside. The staff were friendly and attentive. We had checked out their menu online prior to arriving and...found that the menu they handed us was quite out of date and actually changes a bit on a weekly basis. Their menu listed online was accurate to what they had and we were glad to have checked it out before going. We both had different fish dishes and were very happy with them. We ordered scallops as an appetizer and found them to be too salty and a little undercooked. Overall, we enjoyed the meal and would probably go back again."

This one's hidden up by the train station but it's worth a visit. Portions are not huge but the food is good

An excellent Italian restaurant. Ambience is superb, service fabulous! Food is amazing! Open on Sunday's for lunch, and has a great patio!

This is a noisy restaurant with poor service unless you're with someone who knows the owner. Food is overpriced for what you're getting. You will need to find street parking which can be difficult. View menu

dinner with two friends. excellent service and nice eating, all very cheap. the relaxing atmosphere, the quiet atmosphere and the subtle lighting of the ristorant made it a perfect place to recover with long friends.

Whenever I go to K-town, I eat at filippos. eating here is amazing and the service also fits. the only disadvantage is that they close the month august to visit the homeland. they can't go wrong and the gnocchi is really. good

Job dinner on suggestion of one guest used to go. We understand why he used to go. Great food quality and preparation. Quite original Italian style. People very kind. We eat a fantastic 1 kg beef perfectly cooked. Sicilians guys do it better. Very well...also the apetizer in particular beef tartare and home made sausages.

The decor and ambience is pleasant enough and somewhat upscale. However, even with a reservation, we had to wait over one hour for our meal. In the end, the food was not really remarkable especially for the price. The staff seemed either indifferent or defensive...about it. The place was very crowded and that may have been a factor. However, they should be better prepared for that. Really, we believe they just forgot our order. Won't be going back.

"Holiday, nice weather and still what to do in Kaiserslautern. We planned our start in Kaiserslautern with a light lunch. We visited Ayame for the first time 3 years ago. It is located in the former JVA Kaiserslautern, which was converted a few years ago into the Hotel Alcatraz. A Japanese restaurant fits well here, because the Japanese garden borders directly on the building. We have free parking in the courtyard. Schlichter hotel entrance, only hidden hints at the restaurant The way to the small restaurant leads past the reception. At 13.45 we entered the small restaurant with few seats and hoped to have a seat. Open until 14.00. A long-term construction site on the way to Kaiserslautern forced us to a rather large detour. We were the only guests, were warmly welcomed by a young man. Our question whether we get anything else to eat was kindly hunted. So we took a seat in the small, Japanese-style dining room and got the menu. Optic hasn't changed much since our last visit. Everything is clean and well maintained, bare tables. Daylight only illuminates the room. Unfortunately, you can't look outside. . The menu surprised me. She was partly handwritten and so completely different from my memory. Due to the advanced time, we decided very quickly: 2 large mineral water € 2.50 Foreway to crumb: Edamame € 4.20 For both of us: Sushi Menu € 13.80: Miso Soup, 3 Sushi Nigiri, 4 pieces Hosomaki, 8 pieces Uramaki Our drinks came immediately and well cooled. A good portion of the salted soybeans a little later. The hot beans in the bowl were a tasty crackling beforehand. The young man supported a (his? wife in the open kitchen. Here I was able to observe how the Misosuppe was tasted and the lady freshly prepared our sushi. That made all a very good impression. View into the open kitchen The steaming soup with tofu insert tasted mild and yet aromatic according to the Wakamealga. After a reasonable waiting period, our sushi were served. Very appealing. The 3 Nigiri classic with salmon, shrimp and tuna. The “Makis” pefect rolled, very good in taste. Overall a good portion, we were pleasantly tired. There was really nothing to complain about for the price. Sushi Menu The young man was very attentive, but to expect from two guests. In between the question whether everything tastes. Wasabi, soy sauce and ginger were handed down. In the case of numbers, the solution for the significantly different menu. The young Japanese couple only took over the restaurant a few weeks ago. This also explained that some processes have not yet been very routined. Stay to hope that the small restaurant will talk to friends of Japanese cuisine. Despite proximity to the city, it is very hidden in the building complex. Running is not coming over here and not every hotel guest likes Sushi. The toilets belong to Hotel Alcatraz, are modern, very clean and well maintained. Restaurant and toilets are walkable and without stairs."
