"We called in for breakfast, as it looked like a really nice place with beautiful surroundings. We were so disappointed and I wish I’d checked the reviews here first. I had ordered eggs benedict and the yolks were rock hard, bacon was bone dry (like it had been sat there for hours and hours! and rather than English muffins, it came on a piece of sourdough toast, half of which was burnt and half of which was untoasted. Assuming the bread could only fit half way in the toaster! Service wasn’t great either. After we had paid and were leaving, only then were we asked if everything had been ok, to which I explained it was disappointing. We were advised they’d “let chef know”."

Walked in and asked if we had booked a table by rather rude waitress made to feel we should have when there was plenty of room! Breakfast was nice but won't be rushing back!

My friends and I have been a few times whilst out walking and always have a lovely lunch. Nice staff and reasonably priced, apart from the coffee, which is rather expensive for such a small cup.

Called infor a light lunch. I ordered traditional pork pie and mushy peas. The peas were ok, but the pie was almost inedible. It looked and tasted as if it had been warmed up in a microwave oven, resulting in the pastry shell being soggy and rubbery.

My boss and i came for lunch today for my birthday and we really enjoyed the food, honestly can't recommend this little restaurant enough, the food was perfect and the ladies who wait on the tables are an asset to this establishment. I will definitely be back again! Highly recommend the fish pie! It's delicious

Despite the grim weather, it was worth coming out for lunch. Have just enjoyed a fine fish pie with vegetables carrots , beans and broccoli). Vegetables unadorned but very wholesome and well cooked. Finished with Bakewell sponge and custard.. very nice. Asked for glasses of water and they came with slices of lemon- nice touch. Will certainly be back.

Been with family a few times and not been wholly satisfied but it’s convenient to meet there. Wanted to give them another chance but I’m done. Order arrived wrong, meat very dry, barely an apology and told I should have asked for the meal that I wanted … excuse me but I did otherwise why was it wrong? Didn’t like the attitude of staff at all. Obviously they’re making enough money not to worry about their customers.

We visited for breakfast for the first time and arrived shortly after 9am. There were only a few customers in and we were shown to a table very close to another couple, despite lots of empty tables. We asked if it was possible to have a table by the window but was told they were booked out. We had breakfast and then left roughly an hour later and none of the tables by the windows were occupied during our meal there. Food was average but would not return.
