"During the festival in Erlangen a dining table may be hard to come by. Most Bavarian restaurants will be closed as most people will swarm the festival area. It's so packed that sitting down to eat is only for the lucky.Downtown most of the open restaurants were Italian or Asian style, but we were lucky to come across Römming after a bit of walking. All eight of us had shoulder of pork with kraut and kloß, which was excellent. Waiting time was short. The strudel I had for dessert could have been crispier, but it was still tasty. The plum schnapps were excellent. The menu had a surprising amount of asparagus dishes I'd like to try if I come back."

A great alternative to the usual Fraenkische food. This restaurant serves bohemian food with great flavours, very well cooked meat and a friendly service. We will be going back.

We ate here with guests who wanted local cuisine and on the food and service front we were not disappointed. My only small issue was the table cloth was dirty and initially that put me off. I'm very pleased we stayed as the food and service were execellent.

restaurant on a side street. small dining area, lots of wooden beam and character. Usually not crowded. Food is outstanding. Have never had a bad meal at this restaurant. I recommend the teufel spitze.. Erlangen has many fine restaurants but this is one I always visit.

A traditional restaurant that hasn't changed in decades. (This is a good thing!).Always great local dishes, and a good range of beer and wine etc.Regularly patronised by the locals which says a lot.I always try and visit when in the area.Summer beer garden is an added bonus. View menu

A fantastic fiend that our friends who live locally had not even known about and had only been to the beer garden and didn't even know that they had a restaurant section! The menu choices was the largest and probably the best that we had seen or been to in three weeks of being in Germany!

Good restaurant with local food and also some specialties from Czech Republic. The atmosphere is cozy and the service was fine. I tried a traditional Schäferle, a typical "fränkisch" dish, which was really tasty. You have to be prepared to share your table with other guests, once it is quite common in Germany...I will definitely come back.

Stumbled across Römming while roaming the street of Erlangen after a long day of business meetings. Simple menu, friendly service, Good tasting food. English language menu was a bonus. Don't shy away from Devil Slice starter. It's slightly spicy, but very delicious. Pairs well with helles style bier. I'd definitely go back as it has that local feel and not touristy. View menu

This restaurant in downtown Erlangen serves both traditional Bohemian and German cuisine. The food is just as delicious as this place is cosy and welcoming. Main courses are about 15 euros, and you are spoilt for choice looking at menu. I recommend trying one of the Bohemian with knödeln. It is both tasty and very filling. Wash it down with dark Weissen beer and you will not wish for anything else. When you have finished your meal, go out through the courtyard and go for a walk in the Castle gardens.

The Römming offers you a variety of local and Bohemian beers (from the keg, or bottled - depends on the respective beer). For a starter I especially recommend Topinky - garlic bread. They use brown bread instead of white bread - it is just finger licking good. There is an excellent variety of main courses. No matter if you prefer meat or fish - you will be pleased, indeed. For dessert you might want to throw a coin. Each of the offered desserts is delicious. The service is excellent and charming. We are always looking forward to having our lunch or dinner there.
