Romy's - Menu

I thought the fish and chips at Romy's were tasty which was a plus. Good portion size. The negative was some of the fish was more batter than fish.

Like a trawler’s net struggling to handle 10,000 North Sea Cod, Romy’s service is all over the place! What’s the point asking a customer to pick a delivery time, then delivering the food more than 30 mins before the selected time? Weird. View menu

Unless it gets better it's to be avoided Fish supper came wrapped in greasy paper, no box, and cold in 5 minutes. Batter chewy and uneatable . What fish there was was overcooked and stringy in parts and like cotton wool in other parts . If the fish hadn't been lying for hours or even fried twice it tasted like it . I tried to eat it but literally uneatable and it went in the bin. Easily the worst fish supper ever .

Called in on the way home from a day at the coast. My mum likes a fish supper, but after tonight's offering, I doubt if we will be back. Fish supper was awful.....two slices of fish burnt to a crisp and as tough as old boots! Gave the young chap at the counter a £20 note and he really struggled to count out the correct change. Have been a customer here for many years, including their previous premises and have never seen the place in such a bad way.

Been travelling to Romys for a few years now because their Special fish suppers were the best by far. Ordered 2 Special fish suppers tonight (first time ever they were already sitting in the hot plate). Batter was so crispy and fish was so dry to point I could hardly swallow it. Normally, fish a lot fatter and breaks away in your fingers. If the Special fish are going to be ready beforehand I won’t be back. So disappointed and a waste of money. Gone right down hill. went off chip for approx. 2 years, had always soggy fish with white gunk under the dough, no matter where I tried. I thought I'd try it here since stevie g tried. 2 nights in a row for a fish dinner, incredible fish, best fish I had ever had in my life, used to enjoy mcmonagles boat years ago, but that makes it water. fish was not as tender and batter is immense, not from this white soggy gown as they get with chicken balls and fishbatter. so good and now the only spiced sick eating out of the drive from clydebank.

I have placed an order over and immediately thought I would make a mistake with the reviews here, but I must be honest, I have no complaining really. yes, it is a bit more expensive than others, but this is the case with many places and yes, the waiting time for delivery was a bit longer, but if a chippy is not busy on a Friday night it can really not be a good chippy. my order came bang on the time I was told to him, and the girl that had delivered it was very pleasant and bubbly. happy house tonight young, thank you.

Dropped in to collect meals for my family, had my young son with me. I have visited this Fish and Chip shop for many years, more so after the change in ownership and other than one issue previously, I have never experienced any issues nor had complaints about the delicious food. Due to the recent events involving the lady, who I presume to be the manager, I will never return to this chip shop. This ‘manager’ had no leadership skills in any sense. I witnessed in complete horror, the way this lady belittled the poor girls forced to be behind that counter with this woman.
