"This pub caters for all. Mornings start with a real gutsy breakfast. Mid day brings a lunch time menu of home cooked favourites at astonishingly good prices and the choice of minimum 5 real ales which change day to day. Afternoon then clears the tables and the pub becomes a real ale drinkers paradise, with excellent wines for those of that persuasion. Tea time and the five o'clock club is busy and full of characters. The pub is busy then in the evenings. Live music occasionally. Meat draw on a Sunday at 4.00pm. Dogs and ramblers welcome. The landlady is credit to the licensed trade trying to deliver good quality at reasonable price, all with a smile. Well done Jill and Holly. All beers one price currently 3.30 not matter what the strength, why over complicate things. ps Hugo says thanks for the complimentary dog treats."

A good old pub with lovely staff, a proper atmosphere as a traditional pub should be. Great selection of draft beers ciders.

Nice pub, the majority of the space reserved for dining apart from the small snug. The food is ok but very average. Eg chicken breast in a swamp of sauce with chips. Been here three times now and nothing stand out really. Shame as it could be great with a better menu and chef.

Breakfast is delicious. Well cooked quality food and plenty on plate at a good price. Lunchtime menu is all you want for lunch, basic, well presented and delicious. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Great choice of beers. Child and dog friendly. Lovely atmosphere. Proper pub. Definitely best pub in Highworth.

We had a lovely lunch here on Saturday, We has the chilli and chips and the home made burger and chips, the food was great, extremely tasty, the chips were nice big chunky chips, we both cleared our plates! The atmosphere in the pub was nice and cosy, the wood burner was lovely to sit near, a very relaxed vibe, service was great, very friendly, will be returning again soon,

What a proper village pub should be.! My village pub has become a sports bar although the landlord trys to tell everyone its a village pub....even though he's offended just about everyone in the village who used to drink in there. The emphasis in is on the USED TO DRINK IN THERE. The Atmosphere in the Rose and Crown is great. No **** TV with football. Music in the background so you can still hear each other. Beer great. Bar staff friendly. What more do you want from a pub

After a really long walk in the local countryside today, my wife and I (along with Pippa, the pooch) called in for a drink and lunch. It was lovely, a very pleasant atmosphere of locals eating and drinking, the real log fire roaring away. Pippa was provided with treats whilst we decided from the menu. We enjoyed a wonderful prawn baguette with fries, a Brie and cranberry baguette with fries and a round of drinks. The staff were wonderful, the food gorgeous, great value for money..

Ridiculous to think we only live less than a 10 minute drive from the Rose and Crown and have never been in there before! I suppose it's tucked away and unpretentious and although a locals pub it was welcoming and friendly, staff and customers alike. Good, basic but very tasty home cooked food at prices I haven't seen for a few years. A lovely roaring wood burner, nice rustic feel, a few quirky items adorn the pub, newspaper to read which all cumulates to a great little traditional pub. On top of this my husband loved the beer and they welcome dogs as all traditional pubs should. This will definitely become quite a regular for us. Great!
