"During a rainy day visit to Inveraray Jail, I stopped in for a coffee and snack. The special of the day was Cullen Skink, a traditional Scottish haddock soup with potatoes, onions, and cream. Served in a large bowl with bread rolls, it was piping hot and incredibly tasty. The chunks of haddock in the soup were huge. At around £7 or £8, it was a great value. I couldn't stop raving about how delicious it was to my family members. The people at the next table also ordered it and had nothing but praise. While the other snacks were good, I was too preoccupied with my love for the Cullen Skink to notice."

Best fish and chips i have had for many a year and served with warmth and a friendly smile. Just the Vital Spark I needed to commence my visit to Inverary.

Good coffee and earl grey tea with a slice of hot apple and bramble pie with ice cream, cream or custard) and a slice of the lemon blueberry cake. Delicious and glad we came in. Friendly and efficient waiter, thanks.

Correct restaurant that offers simple, not too expensive, without more. The Loch Fyne is renowned for the quality of fishes yet those offered in this restaurant are fried and tasteless. The staff is nevertheless welcoming and the service is fast.

Local simple and without big pretenses and but a little expensive compared to the average. However very good dinner, choosing strictly local dishes (useless to choose pizza and above all pasta complaining that they are not as good as at our home ....

Caffe was empty apart from one other couple. Gave our order and waited for 30 minutes before asking where our meal was. Manager went off and returned to tell us our ticket had been misplaced. These things happen was the excuse and offered us a free soft drink as compensation.

Top price £14 for a battered gold fish and 6 chips , rubbish food, very poor service. Never never never again, central London or Paris prices for a cafe in a village in Scotland. I was still hungry coming out and went looking for some proper food after leaving the cafe Not good enough.!!!

I paid a steep price of £14 for a disappointing meal of battered fish and only 6 chips. The food was subpar and the service was very poor. I will not be returning to this cafe again, as the prices are more fitting for a central London or Paris establishment, not a village in Scotland. I left the cafe still hungry and had to find another place to eat proper food. Overall, not a good experience.

When we went, the place's name was Cafe Bella which I think is the current name. Walked into what we though t was a Fish and Chips carry out to be greeted by a guy who simply asked if we wanted the fish and chips to share and directed us to the restaurant adjoining. Not being real sure what ws going on, we entered the restaurant where we paid. Shortly after, our fish and chips appeared more than enough to share and very good. We found his place while on a tour of the Highlands and glad to have done so. Very good price and excellent service and food. A great choice in this picturesque village.

"We booked this restaurant after reading the reviews while touring Scotland what a disappointment. When we arrived we were shown to a table straight behind the door and as it kept opening and shutting it blew a massive amount of cold air in. As both parents and staff allowed 2 young children to go in and out every few minutes it got a bit much. We were given the menu and told specials were on the board. No description or recommendation. Also they did not say the board also goes over the top of the fish on didplay. I had crab claws to start the mayonnaise was lovely and what I could get out of the claws was nice but I was given no instruments to get into the claws and they were not broken enough for them to just pull out. I ordered the turbut for main as did my husband it was a small fillet with the skin correctly removed but it was loaded with garlic butter sauce you couldn't taste the fish for the garlic. Also which was worse I don't know what they did to the top of it but it was yellow and like thin rubber. We had to peel it off it was not good. I didn't complain at the time because I am not used to having a fillet of turbut. When I have had it before my husband and I have shared a turbut presented whole at the table. I have only written this today after speaking to some friends who said i should put something on because there had to be something wrong for the top of the fish to be yellow and leathery. You might guess but I won't be going back."
