"We journeyed to Masham to sample the best beer in the world Theakston’s Old Peculier at its source. As the WB is the brewer’s own pub and just yards from the brewery, we were not disappointed. The ales are perfectly kept and deliciously fresh and flavoursome. Meanwhile, the WB surroundings and furnishings etc are vintage though not dowdy (the restaurant part of the pub is more contemporary and light) and there’s a good fire going when it’s cold. Add to all this good service, a few decent bar food staples, a friendly crowd of local regulars, and a characterful pub dog (Theo) and you just might have the ideal English pub."

"I had been wanting to take the brewery tour for a while after doing some research online. I was not let down. Our tour guide, Alan, was friendly, funny, and shared some of his lifelong experiences in the brewery industry. He was also incredibly passionate about the brewery in general. We had a great time sampling the delicious beers they had to offer. Afterward, we decided to stay for a meal and once again, we were not disappointed. The service was excellent and the food was very tasty. We will definitely be returning for another visit."

"Service was good, but our table, glassware, tables around us, and carpet were dirty and were a little off-putting. Full breakfast at £9.50 was expensive. Wasn't keen on the sausage or bacon, but the black pudding was the best I've ever had, and the egg was cooked to perfection. Saw pictures on social media inviting people for this fantastic breakfast and unfortunately, it failed to meet expectations. Had better for far less."

"We had a delicious lunch here today. I had the steak and ale pie and Steve had the Sunday roast beef dinner. We both enjoyed a Sunday lunch out more than we have in years. The food itself was just great, well cooked and hot, but what was so unusual and what made the main course for us was something that doesn't happen, anywhere now, all the plates and serving dishes were hot, not barely aired, HOT. Just as they should be. A huge thank you. The beef in the pie was extremely tender and tasted delicious as did the pie crust. Steve's roast beef arrived pink/rare-med just as requested, the mashed potato was better than, but just like, homemade, with lovely cauliflower cheese, cabbage and leek, carrot and broccoli. Very friendly, experienced staff and a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere, what a find! I'm sure we'll return having recently moved to the area. P.S. apologies for the poor pic. Just snapped a quick one before we are the lot!"

"Unfortunately we can not recommend on the simple basis we never got to buy anything....we arrived in Masham mid afternoon for a 4 night break and highlighted Harry's Fish and Chips as our Saturday night meal, so with log burner light and the bottle of wine open, we ventured down with meal orders in hand to Harry's Fish and Chip Shop, arriving at 6.54pm, we walked into the open door where there was already 2 customers to be told we are closed...but the sign in the window that we noted earlier says closed at 7.30pm and the counter has lots of supplies within, reply was sorry these are all taken for, even although it states food cooked to order!!! So word of warning if you are staying in Masham and want some fish and chips you best go at 4.30pm when the shop opens otherwise like us you will be turned away."
