Was visiting my boyfriend in London and went to Sanxia Renjia for dinner on my last night. Our server was incredibly attentive and friendly, and the food we had was delicious! Would definitely recommend! View menu

I visited this restaurant with my brother and found the service to be unwelcoming. The owner was talking about us and the food was underwhelming. I ordered rice and received a large portion that made me feel sick the next day. I will never return to this restaurant.

We placed an order in advance for our group to ensure everything would be ready upon our arrival. Unfortunately, we ended up waiting quite a while, with some dishes taking over an hour to be served despite our pre-order. The food was decent, but the service left much to be desired.

I recently dined at Sanxia Renjia, located at 29 Goodge Street in London, a Chinese restaurant. It was my second visit to this restaurant, with my last visit being about a year ago. The restaurant is quite busy, catering to both dine-in and takeout customers. It is popular among Chinese patrons as well. The food was delicious and served promptly, without making you feel rushed. I ordered the Chicken and Sweet Corn soup, which was served in a large bowl - much more generous than other places I have tried. This is fairly average Chinese cuisine. We were quite impressed by the freshness and quality of meat and fish served, however, this is definitely not the best place to get real and tasty Sichuan dishes. The chicken and vegetable dishes were extremely delicious, Unfortunately, the fish was the biggest let down. It lacked the numbing feeling produced by Sichuan peppers (likely because there wasn’t enough of it). Overall we weren’t overly impressed by the food. The whole meal came to £125 including a couple of diet cokes which is very reasonable for the amount served. We had a unique experience at this restaurant with a hot pot that had two types of broth - a normal broth and a fiery chili hot broth. The hot pot came with a large platter of vegetables, glass vermicelli, squids, mushrooms, and more. We were able to order assorted meat and seafood from the menu, with thinly sliced pork or beef. Along with the meal, we had sesame paste dip, fresh coriander, ginger bits, and freshly cut red and green chilies. The broth was topped up throughout the meal, with the fiery broth becoming less intense over time. The portion size was generous, so we didn't need to order any extras. The food at this restaurant is good, but I will not be returning due to blatant racial discrimination. I am a black man who has always frequented this restaurant with East Asian friends. However, on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024, my Chinese British friend and I experienced discrimination from the staff. Despite standing in plain view near the front of the restaurant for nearly 5 minutes, none of the staff acknowledged us or offered us a table.
