"Ordered through Uber eats and was given an estimated delivery time. Food still hadn’t arrived half an hour after this time so we called them and they said the food was on its way. Continued to wait for another half an hour and decided to...call again. This time no matter how many times we tried it said “user busy”. Food eventually arrived well over an hour after the stated delivery time and was no longer hot. On eating we discovered that the chicken satay skewers we had ordered were raw"

"We were seated by the window which was lovely and seen to within minutes but my only remark would be it was very rushed so you never had time to enjoy every course before the next one was out infront of you. Therefore our main course was wasted, although we were offered a take out box. So we would have enjoyed it more if it was not so rushed."

"Every time I have been here there is always something wrong, food great and senior staff members seem perfect, when sitting in and eating ordered a drink and a main dish, only drink arrived and didn’t order the main for us, we were in a bit of a rush so had to leave. Then when I ordered online for collection, someone had taken the ticket off and just left it next to the register which was rather annoying as I had to wait a while due to a busy Saturday. Food is excellent, 10/10 recommend, just a bit of a pain to go out for a meal and have to chase someone for your food. They were very kind about delaying my collection and gave me a larger drink."

"I was staying overnight in London for work. I travelled to Swiss Cottage specifically to try this restaurant. They do not take on line bookings and having not phoned ahead I was concerned to arrive at the restaurant and find it looking very busy on a cold Thursday evening. I asked for a table for one and a table was found phew! The food was great. Quite expensive, but this is London. Basically a Chinese menu with some Malaysian dishes. So I had a quarter of crispy duck which was cooked really well and came with a generous supply of pancakes. I followed this with delicious beef rending and rice. Sometimes this sort of food can swim in MSG, but not here. Service was efficient, friendly and helpful (I liked the fact that nearly all staff wore masks). I really enjoyed this meal, although it was far from cheap."

"Staff were very attentive and checked on us regularly throughout the meal asking if we needed more drinks etc. the food is amazing, we ordered a variety of dishes to share between the 4 of us so that we could sample as much as possible. The squid portion was generous and tasted delicious and the bang bang shrimp were also really good. We had the bulgogi beef skewers and aubergine skewers both were tasty but the beef ones were very flavoursome and my favourite dish of all. The desserts are also really tasty passion fruit cheesecake was deconstructed and has a hidden layer of passion fruit sauce underneath to add extra zing. The only fault would be the cookie dough would have benefitted from more ice cream as it was a little sickly after a while."

"We visited earlier on a monday evening and booked just in case, but it was relatively quiet. Very nice setting with a calm and pleasant ambience. We had crispy mushrooms and vegetable crispies for starters both were absolutely exquisit, some of the best starters that I have had in a long while. This was followed by excellent mains, in particular the manchuria chicken with its rich deep flavours accompanied by the burnt garlic rice and some lovely noodles. Every dish was delightful. The service was also excellent, welcoming, accommodating, and helpful. While we were there, a family of about 14 arrived without booking. Amazingly, the restaurant took it in their stride and handled what must have been an unusual occurrence for the relatively small restaurant very well. Overall, it was an excellent restaurant, one of the best I have been to in a while."

"I had the most amazing dinner date with my husband here. While it was a little cramped and super unusual to sit so close to other people (after covid restrictions), the service and the food was worth it. We had to wait for a bout 15 minutes before we were seated, as it was very busy, but it was a pleasant evening for a little stroll so we had no problem with that. Sushi tasted great and the Ramen was perfect. My husband loved his marmite chicken and mochi. We both agreed that this place deserves a 5 star. The team working there is wonderful, very cheerful and polite, despite the super busy environment. Definitely recommend visiting, make sure to book a table in advance, as even on a working day it's packed."

"Our experience at Papa's Wok was very positive. We appreciated the variety of meat and vegetarian options available. The veg spring rolls we ordered were tasty and we received an extra one, which was a nice surprise. The chicken dish we tried was delicious, with the chicken tooan standing out for its flavor compared to the dragon chicken. The gobi manchurian and stirring vegetables were both well-seasoned and enjoyable. We also tried the sweet and chili and garlic rice, both of which came in a box. The chili and garlic rice was tasty but not as spicy as expected. However, the plant noodles were disappointing as they lacked flavor and were quite bland. The portion sizes of the big box were generous and we were impressed by the amount of food. Overall, we had a great dining experience at Papa's Wok and would definitely order from them again."

"This restaurant in Colchester is definitely the best we have tried. We had an amazing meal there last night. This was our first visit since the refurbishment and we were impressed with the new dishes on the menu. The staff and atmosphere were fantastic. There are plenty of vegetarian options available and we highly recommend trying them. The service, food, and atmosphere all receive a top score of 5. Some recommended dishes include Tempura Asparagus, Roast Duck, and North Hill Noodles. Vegetarian dishes are clearly labeled on the menu. "Went here towards the end of July on a date with my girlfriend. She had never tried Indo/Chinese food before, and I am huge fan so I was excited to bring her somewhere where it seemed to look great online. It did not disappoint, I was a bit apprehensive reading the reviews before I went as there were so many bad, but I am so happy this didn't put me off, if you're looking for more traditional Indian food, this isn't the restaurant for you (although they do have a few options. The only reason this didn't get a full five stars, because although the strawberry mojito was perfect in taste, the mint used for garnish was dying and it didn't look very nice. The garnish should always be fresh. However, I will reinstate the cocktail was delicious! We definitely over ordered, however we were able to take the rest that we didn't finish home so win win! Things that we ordered : Manchow Soup with chicken (this was my girlfriends favourite, its sooo tasty! Salt and Pepper Okra, Kuna Pao Potato (this is my personal favourite!! Kung Pao Chicken, Tai Pai Prawn, Veg Hakka Noodles, Vegetable Rice. I really wanted to ordered Chicken Lollipops as I have had these before and I love them, however I couldn't finish what we had already order let alone ordering more. I really enjoyed the food, even if I did finish a bottle of water because of the spice, spicy but an enjoyable spice. I will 100% be back again, as this has fully lived up to my expectations and I am excited to have more friends try the food. They got busier towards the end with big tables, and lots of telephone orders."

"we've been here for years. I was disappointed to see the much smaller lists of the elements on the menu. but the mixed meat knowhow was as beautiful as I remember. we were very happy with the taste of the food and the size of the portion. the personal was beautiful and the building is wheelchair-friendly (in contrast to the filiale in high wycombe). we were very happy with our meal the only part was that they forgot an article we ordered when it was not busy."

"We decided to try the festive set menu at this time of year. The restaurant was bustling and we were seated upstairs near the bar area. The decor was lovely and the ambiance was just right, with dark tones throughout. The food was delicious and I actually tried everything on the set menu, which is a rarity for me, and enjoyed it all. The group of 12 I was with devoured all the food. However, due to the busyness, the service was a bit slow and I had to leave after 2 hours and 20 minutes to catch my train, missing out on dessert. The toilets are located in the basement, so it can be a bit of a trek down and up the narrow back stairs if you are seated upstairs. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience and would definitely go back again."
