"I came to Klingenthal this time with a colleague. For dinner we had chosen a restaurant in the immediate vicinity of our hotel. There was no real greeting when entering, as the operation behind the counter stood on a ladder and sorted glasses into the upper area. While the colleague was still smoking outside, I was already looking for a table and took place. Now the operation came down from the ladder, grabbed a menu and just wanted to move to me when I signaled her to bring two cards. She then came to the table with two cards, welcomed me right now and then also the colleagues who came in this moment. Then the question was whether we already had a drink request. Prompt answered with the question of which delicious beers are available. “Green Pils and Capuchin White Beer” was the answer. Then the colleague ordered a pils and I ordered a white beer. The beers were served while we were still studying the map. The menu had the season card in the first plastic bag, so in this case the asparagus card. There followed pages with local cuisine, carving dishes, steaks and 4 or 5 fish dishes and some vegetarian. The prices for the steaks were still below €15, all the rest was even cheaper. Unfortunately, only a part of the menu is to be seen on the restaurant's homepage, namely the one with local cuisine: [here link] While the colleague then ordered a relatively normal carving dish, I chose the daily offer that I had already seen in the hallway on a stand: asparagus with carvings and potatoes € 13.50 . The service thanked and disappeared in the direction of the kitchen, from where you could hear clearly clear knocking noise shortly later. The restaurant is quite rustic, with glassed windows and the furniture in oak rustic. The tables have plates with Resopal surfaces, on them pale green table runners with embroidered names of the house. Then a glass vase with two flowers, salt and pepper shaker, sugar can and a tea light in the glass. The walls are designed with a white structure plaster, the hanging lamps above the tables are trimmed on old with parts made of wood and forging iron. We were sprinkled by radio music in more than just background loudness. We probably felt this relatively loud because we were the only guests at 6:00 p.m. and there was therefore no conciliation leach. After a waiting period appropriate to the fresh preparation, the service brought the plates with our food and desired “good appetite”. Both carvings had a decent size, looked good and were clearly hot. The fries on my colleague's plate looked good and were obviously freshly prepared, while my potatoes had some dry places. The three bars of asparagus, although of large diameter, appeared somewhat scarce to me for this portion, but were cooked to the point and tasted accordingly well. The Sauce Hollandaise on it was very good and I thought already prepared myself, but the service then later admitted that it was convenience goods. What did not fit on both plates at all was the salad set of noodle salad! . Conclusion: Essentially delicious food with vulnerabilities. The ambience is typical of the country and appropriate, the performance of the operation is perfect. In the overall view, however, rather only in the middle field."

"Already at one of my previous stays in Klingenthal, I had stood in front of closed doors at the Döhlerwald on Wednesdays, so I used Tuesday to return there. The outside door only led into a hallway with an info box with brochures to take away. To the right, there goes a door called “Gaststube”. When I arrived, some of the guests present welcomed me, the barn standing behind the vault and pinned beer remained silent and did not pay any attention. Three tables near the entrance door were occupied, so I looked for a table more in the background and took place. It then took two rounds with serving drinks at the other tables until the host came to me, greeted me with a tight “good evening!” and handed me the menu. The offer includes carving dishes, steaks, local cuisine, wild dishes, fish and vegetarian offers, each on one side, at prices between about 8, and 12, €. While I was still studying the map, the host came back to my table and asked, “Do you want to drink something?” I ordered a non-alcoholic yeast beer (0.5l for €2.20 and she disappeared to inject the beer. In the meantime, I had made my choice, and when she brought the beer a little later, I ordered “Leberknödelsuppe “Döhlerwald” (3,10 € and “Försterhaus Schnitzel, two sliced chips of cream mushrooms and bacon strips on roast potatoes” (11,60 €). The ceiling of the guest room is designed with artistically diagonal profile boards laid in alternating directions with intermediate beams of pine, whereby the wood is gold-coloured. On the floor are octagonal large tiles with small square inserts, both in a broken red tone. The furniture is consistently in “light oak”, with benches along the walls and chairs towards the room, both with dark patterned seat cushions. The tables were covered with white fabric tablecloths, gold-colored middle blankets. On each table stood a tulip in a glass vase, also salt and pepper shaker and a tealight in the glass. An old iron sewing machine table stood in the middle of the room as a flower stool. After some time, the host came back and brought a plate with a beer jug, in it cutlery and napkin. With the other hand, she served the soup. They looked very good, the two dumplings almost filled the soup saucer, the whole thing was marveled with fresh parsley. The first puncture with the spoon clearly showed: It wasn't industrial goods. Nicely loose and tasteful, as well as the broth, the soup was really very good, only the bit of TK vegetables on the ground would be better left out. When the emptied soup saucer was cleared, the host asked: “Was it good?” which I would like to confirm to her. In total, she was truly baptized with increasing duration of my stay and finally became really friendly. After a small break – I had heard the knocking of the Schnitzel before and could now observe the young cook at the preparation through the open kitchen door – the main dish was served. Two medium-sized chips lay like a roof over the roast potatoes, on top of the bacon strips, on both sides a Klacks cream mushroom and finally in the middle the salad set. The scavengers were of very good quality, tender and juicy, apart from a small grease cub. Bratkartoffeln, otherwise often a stone of an assault, came here very well with bacon and onions, and on practically every piece was a, albeit small, roasting place. The cream mushrooms were prepared with fresh mushrooms, overall the composition was harmonious and rustic. Conclusion: If you can look beyond the initially a little beardy hostess, a highly recommended restaurant with delicious food at moderate prices. Maybe she just had a bad day, and I'd go back there."

"Like a few times before, I had relocated to this hotel. In the evening I had no desire to go big and decided to eat at the hotel's restaurant, which I had a good memory of delicious local cuisine from previous visits. When entering the little occupied place, I was greeted relatively friendly by an employee behind the counter, but there was no table assignment. So I sought a free table between numerous “reserved” signs and took place. After a walk with drinks to another table, the young man came to me and gave me the menu. On his question about my drink request, I asked for a dark beer, but he told me that this is not currently in the touch and he could only offer me a black beer from the bottle. During my entire presence in the restaurant, his appearance, as with previous visits in this house, was always friendly and accommodating. He also had a good look at the now well-stocked restaurant, and there were no significant waiting times. Food The offer of the house includes petty-bourgeois cuisine as well as original vogtland dishes, which are mostly only offered at lunchtime (other than previous visits. Unfortunately, the map is not on the restaurant's homepage. The two dishes of the Vogtland cuisine on the evening pass did not irritate me, I decided to bake for “big medallions with cheese, with fries and salad set” (12,40 €). So it became a kernel black beer from the bottle (0,5l for 3,00 € . The beer was served shortly afterwards, a little later the waiter brought cutlery and napkin. After a waiting period appropriate to the well-stocked restaurant, the waiter brought the plate with my food. Three beautiful pork medallions were well gratined with cheese, along with one serving of fries and also a supplement salad. It consisted of a few fresh ingredients, but mostly inlaid. The fries were fresh, hot and crispy, the meat tender and tasty. The size of the portion was completely sufficient for my appetite. So far everything was in order, regrettably just that the Western (Wild courts with the typical clubs were not available in the evening. Ambience The decor is rustic, but the wooden tone is mostly bright oak. In part, the walls were covered high in this type of wood. The chairs had seat and back cushions, which were covered with bright, patterned fabric. On the tables there was only one middle blanket in Karmesinrot, on which there was a small porcelain vase with a flower, along with salt and pepper mills. Cleanliness The guest room was well maintained and clean, even with glasses, plates and cutlery there was no reason to complain. I didn't visit the toilet."
