Excellent food. Beautiful pub. Would go back again. We just dropped in without a reservation which seemed like a no no but they did manage to get us in

Lovely pub, very busy but still welcoming with efficient and friendly staff. The beer was good and the food delicious. Really enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend.

Discovered this pub while driving back from Selsey. We were pleasantly surprised to find an all-day carvery on a Wednesday afternoon, so we decided to try it out. The carvery was absolutely delicious! The staff were also very helpful and friendly.

I highly recommend this restaurant for its fabulous home-cooked food in a traditional pub setting. The dining room is spacious and bright, but a bit too loud for my liking personally. However, I could not fault the food or portion sizes. The Carvery is a must-try with a delicious selection of vegetables. Overall, highly recommended.

We had booked, as it was my birthday, but it wasn't the best of meals. My husband couldn't order the starter he wanted and I couldn't order my main. My husband asked if he could just get some bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar and was told they didn't have olive oil! He was offered a side of garlic bread. The rest of the food was okay. Service was average.

Great for food or just a drink We were staying in the area and were lucky with the weather so decided to have a pub lunch …..faultless and very enjoyable and tasty food We returned again on the Friday early evening for good food and drinks again faultless We were lucky enough to meet the owner Victoria and what a friendly lady Chatted for a while and all in all a lovely time We will definitely be back when next in the area

Thought we would treat ourselves to a Carvery as I remember it being good years ago. The food wasn’t too bad. A few improvements could be made. The staff were very un-friendly, I thought quite rude to be honest. Asked what drinks we wanted barely as we were seated, asked to have 2 minutes that then turned to 10 minutes. Then I had to call to order food as we were just forgotten about. Drinks were abruptly put down on the table. Then was rushed to leave, clearing the table abruptly. Teenage staff need to learn some manners and be trained properly!

A few years ago, my husband and I visited The Anchor and unfortunately, we were the only people in the pub which created a cold atmosphere with no greeting. However, we recently passed by and noticed many cars and a sign advertising their Carvery board on Wednesdays and Sundays. Intrigued, we decided to give it another try. Upon arrival, we were amazed by the bustling activity outside. The lady greeting everyone with a wide smile informed us that it is best to book a table in advance due to their popularity. Myself and some friends decided to stop here for Sunday lunch on our way home from a weekend away. We were greated by a staff member at the door who was quite abrupt with us that we hadn't made a reservation to have lunch. After looking at various things she then took us to dining area. And seated us I asked my friends at that point if they would like to go somewhere else as we weren't made to feel welcome and it felt like because we just turned up to see if they had availability this was an inconvenience.
