"The service was absolutely exceptional. They were extremely attentive, but not overly so. Their timing was perfect and they demonstrated that they cared a lot about our experience. They were especially attentive to food allergies in our party and I would say went above and beyond to accommodate and ensure that we were well taken care of. The food was good, we really enjoyed our meal and dessert. I would say that the food was above average for the fine dining that we have experienced in Ireland, but was not anything that I will be raving about for any period of time. Satisfying and tasty. We also ate here for breakfast as a part of our stay at the hotel. The breakfast was fine, better than some of the hotels we have stayed in, but also a bit hit and miss on some of the items. The service for breakfast was clearly on a different level from the evening dining experience, it wasn't bad, but it was not quite the same exceptional experience we had at night. They were very accommodating again for food allergies and were able to make several of the dishes to work around our needs, which was fantastic."

Went for meal before going to the theatre. Had a long day and was looking forward to the meal. Think I left hungrier to then when I arrived. Miniscule portions on massive plates which makes it look even worse. Had to get some thing else to eat before the theatre else were.

We went for a dessert when the restaurant was about to close. It was empty and we enjoyed a lot the loneliness. The food is expensive for the quality offered. Nevertheless it is good. We ordered two margaritas and a panacotta and another dessert. We enjoyed the time in the restaurant

Food was good , we were really the only ones around at 730 on a Friday night it felt like the staff kind of forgot about us and I had to go get someone to get my bill after sitting a while with empty glasses. I’m staying at the hotel and thought I would try it out ; but with so many options so close by here ; the service needs to be a bit better .

If this is a Michelin starred restaurant, then I don't want to eat at another. The service was slooooowww. The food was mediocre at best. My chicken was dry. My wife's trout was dry. My daughter's beef tasted like the microwaveable roast beef we get at the grocery in the states. My son's lamb was tepid. Not worth the time nor the money. I wish I had gone for fish n chips.

Lovely hotel in a great location. Friendly and helpful reception and concierge. We stayed in the executive king and found this to be well Laid out, clean and well maintained, with good facilities and a turn down service … brilliant Breakfast was ok , nothing special , the full cooked breakfast was just ok, and the buffet part pretty the same, although the honeycomb was a good touch

Our servers were very nice and polite, however the wait time for drinks and food was quite a while. We arrived at 2030, and didn't leave for two hours. I ordered the roast beef with mashed potatoes, and when the food arrived, the meat was dry, and the potatoes were lukewarm at best. Frankly, the microwavable roast beef we can buy at grocery stores in the US is better than what I had here. My mother's fish was dry, my father's chicken was dry, and my brothers lamb was dry and overcooked for his taste. His roast potatoes needed more flavor and we're hot, whereas my mashed potatoes had flavor but were lukewarm. The bread plate was the best part of the meal (in my opinion). I thought Michelin st...

"enjoyed our evening in james st it was the best culinary experience of our trip! we had been happy to see this evening as we had a few hit-N-seals in the course of our trip to belfast. we were not disappointed and had the fabulous evening. we were quickly welcomed and sitting. the place is beautiful and spacious. revitalized and environment. the bar is great and would like to come back, only for drinks at the bar sometime. we ordered cocktails immediately. an Irish gin negroni and a traditional old fashion. my neger was absolutely excellent. I think the old fashion could have been done with real sugar cubes and not sugar syrup, but it wasn't too bad. we were quick to choose our wein. we chose a beautiful juicy red, the cline, the old vine zinfandel, 2019. to begin we had the ham hock terrine with piccalilli champ bread and some scallops with boar bell. the hanging-hock court was the best ham-hock I had. the homemade piccalilli was something else. really nice crispy and sharp sharp to help cut through the hammock and the champbrot was delicious crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. the scallops and black bells were disappointing, as they lacked no salt or genuine aroma or texture between them. we still ate it and shared the rest of my hammock. we both decided to go for the co. tyrone 270g fillet steak with sides of champ and truffle parmesan chips. red wine and pfeffer sauce. they were fantastic steaks. Actually, I didn't think I would finish mine, but I did. I have met the right choice with the jus and the truffle chips. they went so well together, the dryness of the parmesan and sweet, slightly greasy of the jus. the steaks were perfectly cooked. a medium and my medium rare. fantastic aroma on the grilled outside of the steak and beautiful texture when they pierce. we both agreed that the champ was the best champ we ever cost. it was hot, soft, so well aromatized with hot butter on the top of the copper serving pot melt. it was really the most incredible champ. I was too full of dessert. but my sample ordered the sticky toffee pudding sundae. the team was friendly enough to make me an espresso martini that was both decaf and not a sugar syrup. it was brilliant. we both managed to work our way, although a surprisingly light sticky toast desserts on Sunday. the team was fantastic. very friendly and chatting to us. the bar team did not stop, I had the pleasure of standing and watching them make a great selection of drinks and cocktails. the waiting staff were also very friendly when they check in with us at comfortable places to ensure that we were in order. we felt very well looked around. the service was very good, we didn't feel any hurry, it felt like such a free time in this restaurant. when we come back to belfast, we will be back in absolute terms and we will definitely recommend others. Thank you."

"I'm an American. I was invited to work at the queen’s university in a global conference. my airline has moved my baggage, so I stopped in the barking dog to use her wlan to check the status of my baggage and have a drink and a snack with my associate who has unusual allergies. the menu had nothing to call us, so we have decided to finish and move only our drinks./ at no point has anyone informed that it is illegal to have only drinks, and our server ran our review without mentioning any legal requirements. After I paid, someone who I suspect, the manager, came to the table and checked our reception. exactly what I thought was what they said before they cheated on me how it is illegal to buy drinks in a restaurant without eating. I apologised and explained that I had no warning. I offered to buy food retroactive and they refused. then they repeated that I was in a restaurant and not in a pub and that my activities were illegal. they denied my multiple attempts to apologise me while I explained that I am not out of the opposite. this experience was very confusing for me, because the night before me had drinks in a restaurant without food and it was no problem. in any case I was told that there is no such law and that the ordering of drinks without eating in a restaurant is very common. I've never been treated so badly in a customer service dynamic and I'm not sure why this happened. I feel targeted and totally mistreated for what does not seem to be a good reason. To finish it, it was my birthday. complete error in the name of what this person was. I will say the rest of the staff was very pleasant and accommodating."
