"So I done the right thing and called the establishment to give my feedback rather than leave a review but I was met with passive aggressiveness and argumentative communication, so here I am.... Order was wrong but it stated on the docket it was correct so there was a miscommunication between me and the person whom took my order. That 's fine as I didn 't really mind as it was just one main dish but what got me was the very poor quality of the food. The chicken on the honey chilli chicken dish was stringy (like really over cooked calamari it was also very greasy as if the frying oil wasn 't hot enough and the sauce was sickly sweet, tasted like a desert and that goes the same for the sweet and sour chicken (I ordered curry but apparently I didn 't.... . Everything was also very under seasoned and bland. The BBQ ribs were actually ok but very little meat. The spring rolls were just your standard bought in spring rolls but they tasted unusually fishy nearly like it was off. The most amazing thing was the overcooked steamed rice?!? Come on guys, over cooked rice from a Chinese restaurant? Was it even washed before hand to remove the starch? Coming from a culture that 's so dedicated and takes pride in creating amazing food this was shocking and I don 't know what these awards are that this place has won? Are they made up? Β£39.90 for a 'takeaway ' sweet and sour chicken, honey chilli chicken, spring rolls, ribs, steamed rice and chips (sides are also charged separately btw which I don 't mind if the food is worth it . Yes you get a 20% discount on the mains but still expensive. Save your money and go elsewhere, I don 't know where the positive reviews came from. If you want good customer service and food this isn 't the place to be unfortunately."

Have been going to the Welcome for years and can say it is the best Chinese restaurant in the Belfast area. Tried others but nothing compares, food is always fresh and tasty. Staff are incredibly friendly and make everyone feel welcome

The interior of the restaurant is very nice and the staff were some of the friendliest I have ever encountered. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. I will definitely be returning to try more dishes from the menu.

I really enjoyed my meal at The Welcome last night. The meal was lovely. I had a delicious (and hot) Salt and Chili Chicken and my partner had a Honey Chili dish. Both were generous and tasty. Service was excellent and charming. Recommended for a quality Chinese meal.

valentine dinner here. service was impeccable, owner was very friendly and gave us some tips to a really good place in some to visit from a family member. they gave my partner a valentine gift when we were gone. only disappointment was that the char siu pork belly was not available what was the court I wanted, but the normal char siu was a good alternative.

fantastic restaurant. we went for the meatless rub salt n chili and satay huhn that came on a sizzler. Both were absolutely beautiful. chicken curry n soft n pasta and bark meat in black fried chili n rice. both were beautiful again. service: 1. class to leave from the door. first Chinese restaurant in a long time where the personal actually spoke with customers in a conversation. they wanted to talk. this restaurant will be a new departure to belfast. I was overall disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. I stopped by to get some takeaway, but it was busy with people dining in. The staff member who served us was friendly and efficient. However, I found the menu to be overpriced, with main dishes starting at Β£12.50. Takeaway orders receive a 20% discount on main meals if you collect, but you still have to pay extra for a side dish. The honey and chilli chicken dish was disappointing, and the rest of the food was average compared to other places.

my partner and I visited this restaurant tonight. we had an excellent eating with aromatic duck for starter (which was shrunk before us), sweet and acidic huh, salted chili huhn, rice and chips. the atmosphere was excellent, although a little loud to time (not the restaurants mistake, there was a birthday party itself). the staff was very friendly and after the meal gave us some tips to place to visit before site. portions were fantastic and we both enjoyed eating very much. the icing was on the cake when we got the bill and it was incredibly reasonable for the amount of food and drink we had. would recommend a visit here.

"enjoyed our evening in james st it was the best culinary experience of our trip! we had been happy to see this evening as we had a few hit-N-seals in the course of our trip to belfast. we were not disappointed and had the fabulous evening. we were quickly welcomed and sitting. the place is beautiful and spacious. revitalized and environment. the bar is great and would like to come back, only for drinks at the bar sometime. we ordered cocktails immediately. an Irish gin negroni and a traditional old fashion. my neger was absolutely excellent. I think the old fashion could have been done with real sugar cubes and not sugar syrup, but it wasn't too bad. we were quick to choose our wein. we chose a beautiful juicy red, the cline, the old vine zinfandel, 2019. to begin we had the ham hock terrine with piccalilli champ bread and some scallops with boar bell. the hanging-hock court was the best ham-hock I had. the homemade piccalilli was something else. really nice crispy and sharp sharp to help cut through the hammock and the champbrot was delicious crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. the scallops and black bells were disappointing, as they lacked no salt or genuine aroma or texture between them. we still ate it and shared the rest of my hammock. we both decided to go for the co. tyrone 270g fillet steak with sides of champ and truffle parmesan chips. red wine and pfeffer sauce. they were fantastic steaks. Actually, I didn't think I would finish mine, but I did. I have met the right choice with the jus and the truffle chips. they went so well together, the dryness of the parmesan and sweet, slightly greasy of the jus. the steaks were perfectly cooked. a medium and my medium rare. fantastic aroma on the grilled outside of the steak and beautiful texture when they pierce. we both agreed that the champ was the best champ we ever cost. it was hot, soft, so well aromatized with hot butter on the top of the copper serving pot melt. it was really the most incredible champ. I was too full of dessert. but my sample ordered the sticky toffee pudding sundae. the team was friendly enough to make me an espresso martini that was both decaf and not a sugar syrup. it was brilliant. we both managed to work our way, although a surprisingly light sticky toast desserts on Sunday. the team was fantastic. very friendly and chatting to us. the bar team did not stop, I had the pleasure of standing and watching them make a great selection of drinks and cocktails. the waiting staff were also very friendly when they check in with us at comfortable places to ensure that we were in order. we felt very well looked around. the service was very good, we didn't feel any hurry, it felt like such a free time in this restaurant. when we come back to belfast, we will be back in absolute terms and we will definitely recommend others. Thank you."
