"Despite the many gastro pubs in the greater Windsor area, The Barley Mow stands out as one of the best. The pub has a long history, but the recent addition of a new kitchen area has elevated its dining experience. This winter, we've indulged in hearty dishes like thick, juicy burgers and delicious fries. Everything we tried was satisfying, especially the mussels, which were particularly juicy and tender. While the prices are on the higher side, they are justified by the quality of the food and the cozy atmosphere. The service was attentive and courteous. Overall, it’s a great spot for a fancy gastro pub experience when you're in the mood for something special."

Well decorated pub with a relaxed atmosphere. Food was decent and they have a good variety of interesting dishes. I'd recommend the mezze platter and pie.

A really nice pub in Englefield Green. Menu was quite extensive and reasonably priced. Service was good but we felt a little rushed. We had hardly finished our food before the plates were taken away and dessert menus given. Food was very tasty too.

Parking was a nightmare. Food was cooked nicely, flavours were good just wasn't enough of it, portions are a bit small. Service was very good, staff were very good. Good for families, lot of children. Gets busy at weekends. Nice location but tricky parking.

this is my third visit to this excellent pub/restaurant. they serve the best Sunday roast beef meat I ever had in a “pub”. the service was also fantastic at any opportunity professional, but relaxed with many waiting staff. that is how the things should be done, but are rare. View menu

An unexpected visit for a delightful lunch. A lovely place situated just perfectly by the green. The menu made choosing a dish hard as it was all tempting. The final decision was nicely presented and tasted delicious. Great staff, friendly and comfortable environment, now sampling more of the menu is on the agenda.

This beautiful brasserie was the perfect spot for my birthday dinner. We enjoyed four different main courses and two starters, all of which were delicious. The service was outstanding as well. A big plus was that dogs are allowed in the garden, and our furry friend received their own delightful four-course doggy box.

A pleasant Bar/restaurant with seating to the back and the front. Definitely a place to be on a nice summers day looking out onto Englefield Green. Food seems rather nice but as a vegan, not really that much on offer but apparently that will improve over time. Friendly staff and handled the Tuesday afternoon rush with no stress. View menu

We were a large group of 15, which can be quite a challenge for the staff. Initially, we were seated in the back room, which felt a bit dark due to the marquee behind us. However, we moved to a spot under the marquee, and it was much brighter and warmer there. The staff was friendly, the food was good, and the service was fast. They were especially accommodating for the children as well.

Despite lots of choices of gastro pubs in the greater Windsor area, the Barley Mow ranks up there with the best of them. The pub itself has been around since forever but the addition of the new kitchen area at the back has raised the bar food wise. We popped in over the winter for a hearty roast, a big fat juicy burger and fries and some mussels. All hit the spot, as well as the taste buds, with the mussels in particular being juicy and tender. The price is a little high, but fair due to the quality of the food and the atmosphere cosy, while the service was attentive and polite. A good shout for a fancy gastro treat if you’re in the mood.

"we had a great lunch card yesterday in the tudor room. it is in the did a room, with perhaps 8 tables overall, and a bit dark, but with beautiful view of the beautiful gardens that are worth visiting. the staff was very friendly and took the time to thoroughly explain each court. they were particularly attentive, maybe something too much so (constantly looking at us), but it did not spoil the experience as eating was really high-quality, definitiw worth a Michelin star. we were greeted with some beautiful canapés, followed by a small olive oil and exalted pre-starter, which subtle and refreshing, even though on the small side. the brot and the butter were very nice, warm and crusty as it should be in a restaurant this standards. we then had dinner: my pigeon was particularly beautiful, but the cold crumb dish of my gaste was not so tasteful. also the seabream has been refined, but not exceptional. for the net I had a really tasty pork (from different parts of pork, including some delicate wange cooked in grill sauce) and my guests had the equally well executed turbot with beautiful parmesan gnocchis. for dessert we had two a light and exquisite dish that celebrated the earthy of the gariguette (compressed, fresh, as sorbet, tuile) and the other gast enjoyed a rich manjari chocolate sponge with coffee cream and yuzu sorbet. both desserts were equally good, but the aromen in the starters and netzen could have been more consistent. only three tables of the room were used on a Friday afternoon, asking me why cancellation would cause a fee within 48 hours. overall the experience was great, the service was error-free and we will probably return, but we had even better eating in the latymer, which today is unfortunately closed on Friday for lunch. if possible, I would have got 4 and half a star. a lunch is nice, the gardens are also beautiful. highly recommended."
